Tights can be/are usually footed, thick material around 40-150 den. Can be stirrup, Capri, etc.
Pantyhose are usually sheer, never footless (sandal toe is an exception) around 5-20 den. Pantyhose and tights have similar waistbands (classically high, ending near navel, though some end a few inches lower, tight around hips, crotch and thighs, gusset lies flat).typically no seam along leg, except backseam or inseam on remarkably well made tights (or lined tights)
Leggings are made of a heavier material. Usually are stitched along the in- and/or outseam, typically hemmed with a short waistband. Cannot be footed but can be stirrup or Capri. Can be sheer if girl is bent over and wearing the wrong size
