Absolutely love it. I am a bit partial to floral scents so I may be a bit bias but I really love how the scent compiles together.

The rose (at least in my experience), is present throughout the whole notes of the fragrance. And despite the name, the fragrance doesn't scream rose. It's a nice subtle rose that doesn't make me smell like a generic Valentines Day date or an old lady.

The spices and woods that are in the scent really come together to make a masculine rose. It's described as unisex but I see it more as a masculine scent just because of the spices. At the initial spray you get a sensation of rose, pepper, cumin, and among other spices. Once the initial spices wear down, the rose really starts to stand out. Towards the end you get greeted by the woods like oud, cedar, and guaiac.

All in all, I would say that Rose 31 is a beautifully crafted fragrance. It's a very dark, spicy, and warm rose. It's pretty fucking pricey but if you are a fan of rose or spices and woods, then I highly suggest getting your hands on a sample or decant.

I have the 3.4 oz bottle of Rose 31.

Bought it after having tried the sample, which blew me away with its complexity.

The opening is quite nice, very spicy and somewhat woody with a rose base that sort of floats in the background. Notes of cumin are also present, giving it a somewhat animalic vibe. It then dries down to a satisfying woody almost warm yet playful smell, very nice indeed. On my skin it lasts 8+ hours.

Be careful not to spray too much, as it starts to take on a "lotiony" or "soapy" smell if you overdo it. moderation is key with this one.

Rose 31 is a rather difficult fragrance to pull off, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who isn't confident. That being said, it is most definitely a warmer weather frag.

As the other guy said, try obtaining a sample and mess around with it a bit before purchasing. It is an expensive no matter where you look.

Currently wearing Dior Fahrenheit (EdP). Smells great, but I kind of think it doesn't last as long as it should for it being a perfume. It doesn't maintain a lot of the projection that it does when you first spray it on too.

I have no idea what you're looking for in a scent so I'll just give you a few from across the board.

Thiery Mugler Pure Malt - it smells like whiskey with a lot of fruits and some caramel in the opening. A bit overpowering to start, becomes more malty/musky (aka manly) as it sits on your skin.

Slumberhouse Norne - it smells like pine tar, moss, and smoke. Very woodsy, an incredible winter fragrance.

Tom Ford Grey Vetiver - Fisher Price TM babby's first Vetiver scent. Very sharp citrus opening with a lingering vetiver scent that stays. If you haven't smelled it before, it may be a bit strange at first.

Biehl Parfumwerkste al03 - A really warm fruity scent with notes of wood and other elements. It's really difficult to describe.

CdG Kyoto - God tier incense, like a catholic mass.

Montale Black Aoud - Of these scents I would recommend this one the least, not because it is worse, but because it has a very specific set of notes and a lot of people don't particularly like. Extremely strong, long lasting, and massive sillage. If you put a drop on both wrists it will be more than enough. Very dark, woodsy, slight air of fermentation.

>>9183341

It's good, but I don't think it's worth $300. Get a sample of it and wear it for special occasions, or if you really want more then just buy the travel size for $160.

>>9184033

Just because you're not smelling it doesn't mean it isn't projecting. Best example of this is with Tauer perfumes, I wore Lone Star Memories and thought it was weak. Went to meet my girlfriend and I had to wash my wrists a bit because the scent was so overpowering to her. In general, it's better to put less and have people only get a whiff than to put too much and have people try to be polite while you stink up the room.

Aqua de gio: Pretty trash. It's worse than wearing nothing at all.
L'homme sport: Completely butchered the classic L'homme. This is a really offensive fragrance.
Opium: A nice fragrance but the projection is terrible, same with how long it lasts. Would work good on both genders. It really is a great fragrance, it just doesn't project and doesn't last very long at all, rendering it pointless.
Chanel blue: Very nice. It's inoffensive and smells royal.
Cool water: I don't understand the bad rap this gets. It is just a fresh, watery scent. It's cheap and nice. Cool water is a good safe choice, essentially a better aqua de gio.

I currently don't wear any fragrances but I've been trying some at the store and
highly suggest it if you're interested.

I have been interested in the following fragrances:

Terre D'hermes (Haven't tried either)

Perry Ellis 360 Red (Haven't tried it, but I have smelled AdG and hear it's basically identical to it. But I'm unsure about it as it supposedly doesn't last long... Some reviews says it lasts an hour while others say it lasts an entire day?)

Spicebomb (Have tried this scent and love it, but it gives me a migraine unfortunately)

Bvlgari Aqva (One of my friends signature scents. Smells amazing)

Is there any Spicebomb smell-a-likes that are cheaper? I really love the frag but it's too pricy and gives me a migraine.

Just go down to sephora and take a whiff of them and ask for sample so you can see how it smells on your skin.

Of those that you listed, I would say Terre D'hermes is the only one I liked very much, I don't particularly like most colognes that smell too synthetic. Everything other than TDH isn't very long lasting and doesn't have very much sillage either, so it's not my cup of tea.

From what you listed it seems you want something either aquatic, citrusy, or spicy. I'll give you a few more recs based on this.

Heeley Sel Marin - God tier aquatic scent. Fresh citrus, sea salt, it basically smells like a day at the beach.

Tauer L'air du Desert Marocain - a heady mix of cardamom, cinammon, corriander, caraway, and other spices on top of amber and incense.

Hermes Eau de Pamplemousse Rose - it's exactly as the name says. It smells like the flesh and peel of a grapefruit, really clean and fresh. Crowd Pleaser.

If you're not interested in any of these, I would say check out TDH or just go by whatever you like the most. The most important things about fragrances are 1) that you like it and 2) that it doesn't offend everyone around you. Also, never fucking blind buy EVER, go to the store and try it on. Don't have a store near you? Order from luckyscent or indiescents. Whatever you do, make sure you try it on yourself, the smell changes over time on your body and the only way to know if you really like a scent is if you put it on and wear it for a few hours.

Slumberhouse Sova - a lot of hay and beeswax in the opening, but there is a very nice amber underneath.

Slumberhouse Jeke - A seriously weird combination of Tobacco, Patchouli, and Labandum. Smells very earthy, like the forest floor in autumn.

Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille - very straightforward scent. First it smells like tobacco flowers, then it smells like vanilla. Crowd Pleaser.

Tauer Lonestar Memories - incredibly overpowering opening, powedery vanilla mixed with incense and white flowers. I personally love it.

Neither of them strike me as particularly synthetic, they smell mostly like baking spices to me, nor do they seem like they'd be inappropriate for someone past college age. When I think of college/high school fragrances I think of AdG or something Nautica, L'Homme and La Nuit are both much different than that.

I'm not a richfag so I use mostly budget fragrances.

I just used this up Only the Brave, apart from the tacky bottle it's a really modest sporty smell. It's good for casual wear, if you're young mind you (below 25 or something I guess). It beats wearing fragrances you can't pull off and the price is not bad.

Right now I'm using Mexx Black, doesn't have alot of sillage, or longevity, but it smells alright, and fits the season perfectly.

Currently my daily wear is Le Labo's Santal 33
It smells like sex and worn in leather and violet. It's so strong that two sprays is usually too much. One spray lasts a very long time and is definitely enough. Women adore it. Worth every penny. I would say that if you're thinking about getting it, get the 50ml. I find that after about three months, it degrades in quality and doesn't smell as fresh. Much more so than other fragrances. I'm glad Le Labo makes them to order or else I probably wouldn't like it as much. Fresh Santal 33 the day you buy the bottle is the smell of luxury.
Favorite alternates:
Andy Tauer's L'Air du Desert Marocain - what can I say? Everybody loves this fragrance for a reason. It smells good in just about any situation. Spicy and cedar-y, it changes personality as the day wears on. Very much a classic.
Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille - I used to absolutely love this fragrance when I first purchased it, but it has evolved into smelling like a cheap candle to me. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I don't. The name says it all. Straight Tobacco & Vanilla with a few spicy notes thrown in there.
Escentric Molecules's Escentric 02 - It layers well with other fragrances and works well on its own. Reminds me of the smell of new electronics right after you open the box / gin and tonic. It's synthetic and you can tell, but that don't mean it don't smell good. I probably get the most complements from wearing this alone or with other fragrances.

hey fa

i got a $50 gift card to macys a few years ago i just found. i need a wintery scent.. i'll list what i have and you'll see it's all summer scents - but there's something in common in the nose of each of these scents...

bvulgari's pour homme
lacoste Style in Play (bit too strong for use every day)
hollister's socal (yeah, whatever, it may be pleb tier, but the fruity, vanilla, coco nut, flowery-leather base drives me nuts!)

are there any colognes here that would fit into my style for a winter that i could pick up?

Tried these 2 out the other day, probably getting them both over the weekend; there's a 50% off in-store promotion on any other perfume you buy, as long as you purchase one from blood concept first (since the fuccbois and lumbersexuals avoid it like the plague), looks like a pretty good deal to me. Both are pure parfum/parfum extracts, the longevity & projection is outstanding, and I'd agree that they both fit into Rick's aesthetic perfectly.

Tried a couple of more while I was in the shop, namely the Odin's Iwari and Nomad (didn't really like either of them, there's way too many notes and shades in there, I kinda dislike all the spices in there honestly), and 01/02 from Eccentric Molecules (I don't really get what's the big deal about it - could be just me, but I didn't get any "amazing" impression from them at all, it just kinda felt watered down :S).

On the subject at hand, has anyone had any previous experience with Etat Libre d’Orange? Specifically, with Eloge Du Traitre and

My mother bought me this set today. It includes Back to Black (a sweet tobacco-y favourite of mine), Love (a sweet-but-not-in-a-childish-way floral scent which reminds me a bit of Montale's Intense Café), Forbidden Games (a fruity floral mix I'm not 100% sold on though I like the peach notes), and Amber Oud (which seems to be far more amber than oud though I haven't tried it on my skin yet). If anything, I would advise against going into Sephora and trying to judge things there. All of the scents that people are spraying mix around (both mens and womens scents), causing you to be completely unable to smell any of the subtleties of any of the scents. It's too muddled. If anything, take the stupid sample things, spray 4 or 5 of them, and then bring them with you to a different place that doesn't smell so you can actually distinguish them from each other and see which you like better.
