it is an entirely different philosophical proposition.

with techwear we are engaged in a summoning the future which is sited in the east asian metropolis. here we see techwear at play with cyberpunk futures and the frenzied acceleration of the process.

with geologycore we see a radical shift from the accelerated circuitries of capitalist efficiency and ever more compacted intensification of events. in many ways we are seeing a going-back towards of life towards non-life in the other direction, which i will name deccelerationism.

in geology the slow movement of tectonic plates contrasts with capitalist speed (which pervades all modern life), the ordered chaos of geology's 'events' are spoken of in millions of years, whereas we speak in terms of mere nanoseconds in the chaotic order of automated financial transactions that are at work everywhere in the east asian metropolis.

what is the most geologycore way to die? i propose that in death, geologycorists should be subsumed in geology's process, which is to say such events as an erupting volcano.

so indeed we geologycorists should want to die in such a manner. we should be very comfortable in this death, to "die in a fucking fire", so to speak.

You spout these ideas and yet both are accelerationist because both involve purchasing expensive garments that a good deal of you will likely not actually ever need or use on a basis that justifies the purchase. Attaching a philosophy to a purchase is consumerist because it is of the notion heavily pushed by advertisers that you can define yourself with your purchases.

In truth, you do not. You build a ramshackle ego and shell of identity around yourself when you're quite hollow if you feel like you need these purchases to define certain traits about you.

Sure, all meaning is given, but somewhere in the mess of it all there's a constant among us and you do not run parallel to that line. We call people who think such things phony, fake, poser.

Geologists wear these things, many of them do look good in them because a lot of thought goes into the garments. But that isn't just it. They look good because there's a certain sense of the genuine. These things are important to their line of work, they come off as attractive because they are so well in their own vein that you see confidence in style in what they wear. But as I have been stressing it is not just what they wear, but what they do. Confidence will always look good.

The lot of you on the other hand, will not look good in these things because you are an imitation. Imitation will always take more effort than the real things, and it does not give off that air of confidence. It gives off an air of the unnecessary effort that goes into imitation. It's that effort that people pick up on, that leaves a bad taste in their mouths.

Plus for a bunch of tryhards, /fa/ is full of a bunch of unstylish faggots who just need validation out of their clothes and others.

The important thing will be to not stray too far from normal dress unless you have a believable reason to. Whoever talked about the old man was right, certain features can lend to a genuine look as much as lifestyles.

If you go more eccentric you'll want to fill those boots of eccentricity.

I don't think backpackers since they are usually hippies and have a really modern bright colors and gross kind of look. I'm thinking more people travel to exotic places a couple times a year with more of a relaxed wardrobe. That is still practical yet has much more fashionable thought put into it. I had these neighbors as a kid who I would housesit when they left. They went to Peru, Greece, Egypt all over and would bring me something back. >>9112926
Talking in purely hypotheticals, I'd say it still depends. An unkempt grizzly look seems to compliment outerwear styles well as it gives weight to the notion that you spend time outside using these clothes.

As with most things, shorter hair seems to imply something sportier and younger in the look.

Mid to longer hair seem to have an opposite effect; less worldly, more eccentric, less careful, even wise in the case of that old man.

I think mid-length or longer will complement an outdoorsy look most of the time with a level of unkemptness, but short's been shown to look good in this thread. Good facial hair will almost always complement it, but good facial hair looks nice with most things.

Keep in mind this is all theory from a guy who hasn't made an endeavor into fashion yet. I just lurk and learn, but I have no practical experience.

Really the only people around here who wear wide brimmed hats are old cowboys or smalltowners. The same kinda dude that wears the boots and those 2-color buttonups that change at the shoulder seams.

They look normal on these men, but never stylish. Certainly not on young men, just look at how hard Pharrel Williams tries to sell us that shit. He looks dumb. All my shit is either sourced from thrift shops or is milsurp except for shoes and geo gear. Good shoes are important, they've saved my ankles on more than one occasion. The fit is generally really bad. I don't get it tailored because it lives a rough existence and I don't wanna be sad if my favourite shirt I got tailored to fit me perfectly get's caught on a tree/fence/rock and torn.

No pics because it's all in a bag read to go. I'm going to New Zealand in ten or so hours.

cannot get over how unbearably lame this thread is

15 year old white kids google image searching geologists at 3am on a school night so they can post it as "dope fashion inspo" in desperate hopes of being a trendsetter on an anime forum

all these people are just dressing practically to live their normal lives, maybe if you had actual hobbies and interests besides video games and internet porn you could look like them naturally rather than buying third hand north face on ebay to try to cosplay as someone who goes camping

basically fuck you

designers especially the ones you worship pull a lot of their ideas from the street. prorsum's bailey took inspiration from surfers in wetsuits. rick and raf you know they took a lot of ideas and styling from subcultures and 'the street.' ervell took from uni prep.

not saying thats all they do but thats a big part. this thread is original and a good source of styling inspo imo.
