Anyone have any experience with gap raws? Want to know if the quality is decent. Theyre like the only raws i can find in-store in my state

Why dont you buy them online you idiot. Who buys anything from the GAP?

the gap selvedge is better than the uniqlo selvedge which is better than the H&M selvedge which is comparable to the urban outfitters selvedge (unbranded)

just stay away from the baldwin collab

Nothing crazy, I prefer underbranded. They're decent and will fade nicely but remember they are low end jeans. still better than h&m

most gap stores won't have the selvedge jean

it was more of a trend in 2009.

with that said they're $80 w/out that discount

for just $200 more you can be getting into some real denim brands that will last you more than 8-9 months of heavy wear

and will look better in the process

who told you that?

naked and famous produces unbranded but not to the standards of their mainline

it's not impossible to get quality selvedge denim from china, but to say that on the whole there is no difference between japanese denim and chinese denim is just false.

unbranded denim is just okay for its price. after having mine for about 9 months one of the flat felled seams on the leg has come undone, they use some really shitty thread which is causing the stitching on my pair to come apart in various places.

gap is good for jeans, chinos, and cords

I have their jap 14oz raws and their 13oz white selvage jeans and I have no complaints. They are fading properly and haven't had a crotch blowout. I've washed once in 8 months.

I also have like 4 pairs of chinos and a pair of cords and they've all held up for a year of working in them. The brown ones I wore the most actually have fades.

Their shirts are shit and wrinkle after a wash and you have to get them tailored anyway. Outerwear is good if it is nylon, but again needs to be tailored because it's cut for fat people. Never buy a blazer or peacoat from them because the construction is horrible. Their underwear is great, their socks are ok. But from the pair I wore (28 in SKs), it had a relatively long top block. Now I have absolutely positively no ass, but it was a little jarring how much room I had in the seat in general. I say this every denim thread, so I'm going to say it again: I've owned a lot of raw denim in the sub-$300 range. A.P.C. petit standards are my favorite by far. Anyone who is thinking of buying Unbranded, N&F, or Nudies - forget about it. Save up and get A.P.C. or better. Don't fuck with budget raw denim. That being said, if you are going to, get the heavy Unbrandeds.

I usually am between a 29 and a 30 in most jeans. For APC I wear a 28. I've heard some people say size down 2, which may be fair. Others say size down 1. Because I'm in between sizes normally, I can't really vote one way or the other. There is a decent bit of stretch in the waist after the first week.

>>9111856
My current pair of petit standards are 6 months in with no washes. No loose threads or anything. I'm not going to lie to you and tell you that APC denim is the highest quality material on the market - something like samurai is going to be clearly better. But the APC material is a substantial step up from N&F and Nudie. I wouldn't worry about it crumbling on you, it won't happen. Highly recommend copping.

Honestly there is no answer.

For sick high contrast fades? Wait a long time

But some people wash them like every week and end up with sick fades.

Just wash them when you think they are dirty. I'd say every couple months is a decent window that will help prevent damage to them and still yield fades
