Currently not owning a watch but have been looking for fucking eternity only to find that the watches I like are too big for my tiny wrists. The diver/aviator kind of watches really appeal to me but they are generally too big for me.

Recently I stumbled on this watch which is an aviator, and it comes in sizes from 36mm (dial) to really big ass.

Question: can I get away with a small aviator (or diver) or is the size an essential issue? Also, alternatives?

It's a designer brand. you should rather stay away from those.

Since this a normal quartz one though, it will do what it's supposed to do but it's nothing to write home about.

check out Citizen, Seiko and several different qualified (german) watch manufacturers. You'll probably find a decent one for the same price as this KC watch. designer brands have the problem that they mostly sell overprived chinese crap and tag their name to it to give it value. it's usually bad.

so common knowledge is to avoid fashion label watches and designer watches.

usually it's like that, even if you have a smaller wrist you'd still be able to wear at least 44mm.

the far bigger issue for me usually is the case thickness. I don't like watches that go beyond 12 mm and I only really like to wear watches with 8, 9 or 10 mm thickness.

A quick google search to see the prices of said brand and... honestly, with a little research you can get swiss made stuff by just a bit more, (if not by the same price, depending on which models we're comparing).

I came here a few months ago thinking about buying an Hugo Boss watch and heard pretty much the same >>8965948 said. Go for watch manufactures instead of designer brands. It's a simple reasoning, really: one company has a tradition on making said item and sometimes is from a country famous for its watchmaking. The other is a fashion brand hiring some unknown company to manufacture their watch. Which one sounds more reliable and of better quality?

I'm pretty sure the first one I'd get would be the 556 I just because it's the cheapest of their line. Absolutely want a U1 SDR >>8983212 , an EZM 3, 140 St, and by golly I'm sure the list would go on.

I know one thing, the 556 would live on nato straps if I ever owned one.

The back isn't anything special.
The name is "The Brown Decency from Swatch" i bought it in 2012 in February. The price was $110 back then, but swach bumped up the price to $120. I just found it online for $70 because of a sale though. http://www.areatrend.com/swatch-ygs753g-watch-1681884675.aspx?utm_medium=cpc&utm_source=adlucent&gclid=CPqkzbfBw8ECFQMT7Aoda2gAQw&kwid=productads-plaid^87287947455-sku^1681884675-adType^PLA-device^m-adid^55083535335
Not sure how trustworthy the site is. The watch also has a blue dial version and a black dial version, along with a Burgundy version.
I've had it for 2 and a half years and have only aquired a few scratches on the plastic crystal. I could get it replaced with glass but I'm not doing that anytime soon. I dented the part that protects the battery from opening it a couple months ago to replace it. It was only from being too agressive. The battery seems to die every 2 years. I don't really have any real complaints for it at all. Overall rating 8.5/10
