It seems like a few clarifications would help you out a lot.

"Chino" refers to a cotton twill fabric. All "chinos" should be the same fabric. The ones that you've posted on the right look like the might be a brushed plainweave or something that's also gone through some washing. So, though they might be labeled as "chinos" they're actually not. The confusion also comes from the fact that many younger teenagers assume that any cotton pant that's not a jean is a "chino" when that usually isn't the case.

Any company that makes a standard chino pant, whether it's cheap basics like Uniqlo, mid-price contemporary styles like Wings + Horns, or high-end tailored companies like Incotex, will do the same chino twill fabric in several colors.

When asking for it, just make sure you ask for a twill chino in black and you'll get exactly what you want.

Is this any good, or are there any fits with this? I want to try it out.
Idk if the belt is necessary and correct me if I'm wrong but if you need a belt your pants don't fit, right? I think it's more of a visual thing.

>> No.8866585

>>8866578

I'd say the belt would be helpful, just because I find belt loops a little distracting when they show and there's nothing in them to define a waist. Frankly, I think you could do without the tuck, but that depends on the sweater and the pant.

I feel like every pair of pants that I wear doesnt fit right when I put on shoes. Like they feel too baggy after the knees. Your pants either need to be shorter so that they don't stack as much, or you should get them tapered. I recommend the latter more because I personally prefer tapered silhouettes.

In case you're unaware, when taking them to get tapered, make sure you're clear that you want them tapered from the knee down. Get a ruler and measure the leg opening of the pants getting altered, and then measure the leg opening of a pant that you think has the leg opening you'd prefer, and then tell the tailor that.

I know I can fit a sweater or something inbetween Shirt/flannel and Fleece/Sweater/Jacket but right now I think a longer shirt between T-Shirt and Flannel would work best. Preferably a long t-shirt with one of those cool super huge head holes.

It just depends on your hair, everyone's is different. Some people's hair lays down when they get a buzzcut, other people's sticks up when it's five inches long. Since you've already taken the chance and gotten it cut, you'll just have to wait for your hair to grow out.
You can force the hair to lay down with stuff like blowdrying, and strong hair product.

Anybody have experience with Japanese sites like Rakuten/Y! that can help a brother out?

I was checking out these two Yohji pants, both size 2 and was a little confused by the sizing. I'm a little confused by the measurements on them however; they don't seem like they are exactly the same pants, but they are both a 2. However, one's waist says 102cm and the other says 78, which seem radically different for the same numerical size pants. Here are the links:

102-http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/playful/item/s-413/
78-http://global.rakuten.com/en/store/playful/item/k-17709/

I also came across a pair on Y! the other day that are gone now, but they listed the waist as 40, inseam 72, and waist again 33 (size 3 this time). Granted, this may be because of a Google translate issue, but was wondering what you guys think.

If you need something that'll keep your hair down no matter what, go for Murray's pomade. Nothing is even comparable to it, it's in another league in terms of strength. It's essentially just heavy wax, it takes scrubbing with dish soap to get it all off your hands, and about a week's worth of shampooing every day to get it all out of your hair, depending on how much you use. It'll pretty much turn your hair into moldable clay, and especially so if you blowdry it in the direction you want it to lay.

So if you don't have any time (you're in school or working, or just don't want to have funny looking hair for a bit) go with Murray's. I dunno about other countries but in the US it's like $4 for a 3oz can (same amount as any $16 AC product) in any drug store or maybe supermarket.

But if you do have time and some money to experiment with your hair a bit, I suggest doing that. You might find that you don't need the superstrength of Murray's, or that you just like a different product more. These are the products I've tried and know about, in order from strongest to weakest:

Groom & Clean - Classic style hair gel, basically grease without the grease. It's great and easy to style with, has a lot of shine, but doesn't have perfect hold. It'll deteriorate throughout the day, and after a few hours you'll be running a comb through it pretty often, or at least I was. Washes out really easily. Smells bad in my and most people's opinion. The smell sure grew on me, but it won't as quickly on other people.

AC Grooming Cream - basically Murray's jr. Strong product, washes out in one good scrubbing. Don't have a lot of experience with it cause like I said it just felt like Murray's jr, and it didn't hold my hair as well so I just went back to Murray's. My hair is super uncooperative so most people would have better luck I'm sure.

gonna continue this in a second post cause it's getting too long

cont'd
AC Fiber - Pretty strong product. When using it, rub plenty of it all over your hands (this goes for all products, but has to be done excessively for fiber cause it's like frozen butter when it comes out.) and rub it in your hair damp. Has no shine, and is just really consistent through the day. The hold isn't super strong, so if you're driving with the windows down or hit a gust of wind it'll mess your hair up, but whether it's been 1 hour or 10 since you put the product in, you'll be able to reshape it the way you want it easily.

When I used Fiber I used it pretty much exclusively with AC Pomade, cause I didn't like the lack of shine, and I loved the smell and texture of AC Pomade. So again under experimenting, feel free to try out combinations of products.

AC Pomade - It's kind of weak for a pomade, but compared to most products it's fairly strong if you use enough. Has a good amount of shine, and sculptable hold. It's hard to explain but it kind of keeps your hair moist all the time, so think wet clay compared to the dry clay of Murray's or Fiber. Smells incredible in my opinion, I like to rub some of it in on top of whatever I'm using just to add a bit of scent.

Another thing you can do is put some Murray's in, take a shower, and you'll have half of that Murray's still in your hair, ready to use as a base, giving whatever product you put in after more hold and stay, while allowing for the top product's characteristics to show.

nah peacoats are overplayed and pretty ugly imo. Overcoats are where it's at, they're beautiful and never go out of style.
As for matching the suit (you only have one suit?) Black would go with dark navy fine, as well as most grays. It's just personal preference, though it's a lot harder to find an overcoat in gray.

Either way, do not purchase online. Go somewhere you can try it on, and find one that works with the shoulders of your suit jacket

I appreciate the detailed response.

I want it to stay down for only 8-10 hours minimum during work + want to clean my hair every other day so Murray's is interesting but out for my purposes there. Maybe I'd use just a little but where some hairs just refuse to stay down.... (20 hours later) I tried it and yes, it's very strong even with just a touch. Afraid of the oils destroying my hair though. Amazon says it can make you bald.

Going to try Bed Head Matte Separation Wax and then AC Fiber + Pomade since they're in my Walmart and the Bed Head is cheaper than AC.

Probably, since the quality will be better than anything you can buy with that price, however depending on your height and weight they might fit weird.
I have Tru-Spec M65 and they are supposed to be made with army sizes and Small Regular fits me pretty fucking well, I'm 150lbs and 6' if that helps at all.
You could also get some brand one with better fits or get army one tailored if it doesn't fit you which would probably be the best option.

check orimono, they indie labels with an aesthetic like that
or save up, or buy used from rakuten and grailed
also look out for sales, search for nag nag nag, darklands online sales outlet , for classic brands
still expensive but affordable if you save up a bit

yeah

6 feet. haven't weighed myself in years. pretty thin i guess.

usually wear 29-30 waist jeans.

29s are usually pretty snug for me but these are 29 and they're actually slightly loose around the waist (maybe even a full inch). so they definitely run big in the waist. will probably take them to a tailor if i end up keeping them

the quality seems good and the stitching is very sturdy.

I have to do an interview, not for a job but basically this old guy is going to write a letter about me to his headquarters and tons of money depends on it.

I specifically asked in an email and he said that there was no need to dress up, but the meeting is happening in his high rise office, so I'd feel like a bit of a fuck walking in wearing casual shit, but at the same time he directly said I shouldn't dress up.

What should I wear that's a casual blend?
