If you go with camo pants don't wear full on combats. Wear something more subdued.

General guidelines to follow:
Remove any velcro that isn't for pockets. So no name tag velcro or shoulder patch velcro.

Only one camo piece in a fit.

Flags on shoulders are personal preference. Nothing wrong with leaving them on and nothing wrong with removing them.

If it looks like something you'd find in a mall store it's okay to wear. As an example most parkas and jackets are fine. Some of them have like 6-8 pockets all over the place though which looks way too bulky and impractical as streetwear.

Know color theory so you can wear appropriate complimentary pieces so the fit actually looks like a fit as opposed to a random camo piece thrown in with shit that doesn't go together.

rugged civilian pants in heavy wool or waxed cotton.

milsurp pants - avoid being matchy with the coat pattern. maybe one in a camo and the other in solid color. tuck into boots.

*some* techwear and jogging pants can work for continuing a fuctional look.

no jeans, no sweatpants.

this is why i say usually. i've left my german ones too because the flag is a pretty minimal symbol and not heavily loaded politically. it also adds a little bit of color in there.

with a lot of clothes though... i don't neccessarily want to be wearing a russian flag with what's happening in ukraine at the moment.

also i know some people have an issue with people who haven't served wearing military clothes at all, but i do see a big difference between wearing an old coat and wearing a rank badge or medal that somebody had to earn.

Depends on the pattern. Black jeans should be fine with most of the darker / woodland type camos such as Flecktarn and British Woodland DPM.

Desert camos you're going to want shades of brown possibly leaning into maroon on the darker end and tan/khaki on the lighter end. Just don't be matchy-matchy with the color(s) of the camo pattern. Take a look at British Desert DPM as an example of a desert piece.

Personally I'd worry more about color than material, only because most things denim and chino are easy to come by and don't hurt the wallet much. Nobody is going to look at you wearing black jeans with a fleck parka/jacket and think "Those pants should definitely be wool instead of denim." Better and more fitting material will obviously be more complimentary, but I'm giving a poorfag perspective as opposed to something more like >>8843816
