There's a lot of talk on /fa/ about buying shit on ebay or grailed. Am I the only one who's a bit iffy about buying used clothing? I guess jackets would be okay, but buying shoes, jeans, hats, etc that someone else has already worn just seems weird.

It's okay if you're poor lower class human shit like birthday or trunks i guess but you're buying outdated garbage imo and it makes you human garbage

Check your privilege anon.
Just clean it and it's fine. Most of it is in your head.

it's fine. nothing bad can happen. choose between being a poorfag with a shitty/small wardrobe, or being a poorfag with decent sized wardrobe

But it's not even a good deal. I saw used CPs for $315 when you can buy new ones for $400.

>"buying shit used won't give you good deals cause i saw one that wasn't that good a deal before"

so look somewhere else. even better, if $85 doesn't matter to you, then just buy stuff new.

You've got a point. I was just wondering if I was missing something.

i understand. buying stuff used can be a pain in the ass cause it can be hard to find good clothes/good prices and stuff, but if you put in the time you'll be one happy /fa/ggot

>> No.8837343

the way i look at it, every day i eat cut-up dead animals and plants that were pulled up out of the soil. compared to that, the idea that somebody might have worn my shirt before doesn't feel very important.

There are three scenarios in which I'll consider buying used clothing/accessories.

1. The person wore it once, found it didn't fit them, then decided to sell it. Small discount, but why the fuck spend full price when you can spend >10% less for an article in mint condition?

2. The piece is timeless. It's not a good idea to swallow yesterday's trash bread when the baker's are already putting the new day's loaves out. If the piece is very much of a certain trend, it'll make your bandwagon used-purchase pretty obvious. 9/10 condition and up

3. The piece is so rare that it never pops up outside of places like Grailed, Ebay, or Buy/sell/trade threads. I had to grab the first pair of vintage French Foreign Legion buckle boots I could find because I'm an American and they don't float by too often, much less in the desired size.

I just copped a pair of used geobaskets. Got the color way I like the best, saved $500, and I prefer when geo's look worn a bit, so I was psyched. that being said I usually buy shit new unless its past season stuff.

I could only afford second-hand CPs. I copped some for $89 that aren't even in bad condition - just worn in - which saves me wearing them in.

I love buying second hand.

Ive only recently started buying some items used and its actually been a great experience
the hunt for both decent pieces in good condition as well as scoring them for a fraction of the retail cost is enticing and fun imo
this summer i copped an our legacy and wing+horns button up for $60 each off of someone i ended up meeting up with from grailed. They are practically brand new. Most people who own these pieces recognize that they are meant to be cared after.

if you ever buy used clothing or shoes, you'd better put that shit through the dryer on high for 20 minutes at least

don't ever let used furniture into your home

it's not worth it
