Can we have a skin care thread? Anything that you use on the daily basis. Recommendations.

I've only been washing my face with water for the past couple years, changing my pillowcases often, but I'm sure there are products out there that help the healthiness and look of your skin. However, I also don't want to damage my skin searching for that perfect product.

Sunscreen is key

Please don't forget facial sunscreen. Sunscreen protects your face from UV and keeps your scars from getting darker, but also acts as like an acceptable form of makeup. Smear a little under your eyelids too and you can hide your baggy eyes if need be.

a balanced diet and rigorous exercise routine.

In the morning if my face is a little puffy I'll put on an ice pack while doing stomach crunches. I can do 1000 now. After I remove the ice pack I use a deep pore cleanser lotion. In the shower I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine. I always use an after shave lotion with little or no alcohol, because alcohol dries your face out and makes you look older. Then moisturizer, then an anti-aging eye balm followed by a final moisturizing protective lotion.

LUSH is some of the best stuff for you guys, all natural shit from the earth

What I do:
1. Use in shower. scrub face with a chunk half the size of a marble
2. Use after shower. spray 5-8 sprits on to a cotton pad and wipe face. (this makes your face baby smooth)
3. Use as a general acne cream (every night before you go to bed). size of pea

just read the fucking labels on their products, and if you can't do that, look for documentaries on so called "natural brands". I guarantee you their stuff isn't natural and contains nasty shit in it. Not just "chemicals", but shit that's actually seriously believed to be harmful.

If you want natural products, you have to make them yourself. It's easy for some products, harder for others. But Lush sure as shit isn't natural.

>>8713239
Accutate is efficient for severe cases, otherwise it does more harm than good. Don't make my word for it, look it up.

>Laroche Posay
>recommanded by dermatologists
You're right when you say they're recommended by dermatologists, but again if you read the list of ingredients and google each one, I guarantee you'll find stuff that is known to be either too harsh or potentially dangerous for your health on the long term. Again, they'll sell you their products as though they're natural (though not as much as Lush does), but they aren't really that way.

I say this, Ive been using some of their products and other similar brands with a good reputation based on what dermatologists say, hell I still do to this day. But the labels never lie...

You do realize that you aren't supposed to use La Roche range of products for life right ? They're mainly aimed at acne type skins, and acne doesn't last a lifetime ( scars is another story ).

Besides anyone using skin scare products for life is fucking retarded. I'm using them to get a better looking skin since i just came out of two years of Accutane, and once i will be happy with my skin, i'm giving myself another year or two, i will just cease using products as a whole, or something like cleaser two times a week and that's it.

>>8717771
I do realize that yes, although, the products being usually too harsh (especially the cleaning ones), I'm not sure how easy it would be to just stop using them.

Besides, if you start at around puberty, you're in for more or less 10 years of using them daily, which, if they're unhealthy to some extent, is a pretty considerable amount of time.

I hope not using them, or at least not as much, works for you, but in the same way using shampoos that are too harsh forces you to wash your hair more often with the same products, I think using those cleansers can have adverse effects on the skin in the long run.

>> No.8717792

This pathetic pursuit of perfect skin is worthless anyway. Most of the common skin issues are genetics. If i can alleviate problems acne left behind with some products, then it's exactly what i'm going to do.

Between having to deal with a shitty looking pizzacore face but being " natural " and not using products or drugs, and using non-natural products and drugs and get a better looking face, with some scars here and there, i chose the latter any day of the fucking week.

Besides most of these arguments about natural treatments and shit, like people blatantly blaming me to to apply products and taking Accutane, were coming from people without any skin issues whatsoever. Like, they had three shitty zits during all their teenage years, and they have the audacity to tell someone with severe acne at 20 years old what he should or shouldn't do.

Fucking faggots. The only people i truely believe is a dermatologist.

People are too uninformed and biased to be trusted with this shit. They take their personal stories and apply that as the universal truth.

Except it's possible to improve your skin without using as much chemicals. So the dichotomy you're presenting isn't accurate. You seem very defensive about this, if you have really bad skin problems I can understand, I had quite a few zits myself, not pizza mode but still I have oily skin (combination actually, worst of both worlds) so I know what having to deal with that is, at least to some extent.

All i'm saying is, you should be making an informed decision about the products you do use, because I thin that always leads to what's best for you.

It's good to trust your dermatologist more than the internet, but it's also important to realize a dermatologist is going to give you advice within a certain range of expertise which pretty much only involves products, and doing other things about it on the side can certainly improve the efficiency of said products. I think we can all agree if we didn't have to use any of these, it would be better on all aspects (financial, health wise etc). It's not that simple but still something to keep in mind...
