I live on the east coast, near Boston. It's so red neck here. All women here wear are cheap jeans, t shirts, target specials and cheap coach purses. I catch a lot of shit for dressing well. I can't even wear all the shoes I have because I look so out of place. Even a nice blazer is considered "dressing up" here.

Do I just conform and frump it up? I hate t shirts and jeans, it's lazy. I'm not Kardashian, but damn, it sucks everyone here dresses like shit.

Pic related, this is considered "dressing up"

Quit caring so much and just do what you want. If you can't decide what to do in social situations... I'm afraid you might have a slight form of autism...

Wanting to blend into city you just moved to = autism, apparently. Thanks for your expert diagnosis.

nh resident here, confirming for best advice. i get away with wearing weird shit here because i don't need a social circle of more than 3 people and because i'm self-employed, so i couldn't care less what others think of me. your mileage may vary.

Part of being fashionable is not marking yourself as an autist who can't fit in.

Not being Autistic is learning to adapt to social changes, fucko. That's why we don't walk around with bell bottoms and large lapel shirts with 60s prints. Or have shitty 80s hair. If I were to move to France, I certainly would look out of place in comparison to American fashion choices.

Only hipster faggots jerk off about "omggggg originality non conformity" I just fucking moved here from NYC. It's like I'm in another country,

Peacoats, designer jackets, fashion jeans, layering, and boots. Not exactly limited choices. But it's more about pairing. How much is too much?

I'm from the Lynn area, and totally agree with you.
