not really, they used a lot of low end components, they were painted hastily for mass production rather than more artisan hand brazed frames.

personally i don't find them too great looking, even with brooks brown leather everywhere and powder coat still meh

down tube shifters, chrome plated hoops and shitty cable managmet never looks great

I just taught myself to ride a bike and now I want to buy one. I don't have a lot of money to spend on it, would 500€ be enough for a great bike ? Should I buy a brand new one or should I buy a vintage one, repair it and maybe turn it into a singlespeed ?

they're nice and light (for alloy) and they look pretty and ride reasonably well, but you can build something better with second hand components for less money

i bought one because i don't have to do any long haul riding and my discount was too good to pass on

just don't pay full price for one
they're also going to become enormously popular with huge dorks in the next few months so if how often something is posted on superfuture puts you off buying it, factor that into your decision
