To expand on why everyone hates fedoras, it isn't just because autists wear them. It is simply a dated form of accessory that is worsened by neckbeards.

Casual hats just stated dying after I wanna say the 40s and 50s. They just weren't something that looked 'good' as culture changed. Think about suit jackets. Remember when all of them had padded shoulders? Nobody is wearing those anymore because people agreed that fitted suits looked better.
The formal hat just isn't a timeless piece of menswear. There was no way to change it like suits and shoes.
It doesn't mean you can't think it looks good in context, but just because it looks good in context doesn't mean it looks good in modern culture because again the concept of fashion changes. Things die for a reason.
