Now, you could say that it doesn't matter, because it's the same camera, just in pink, but the problem is the pink color doesn't communicate "Look at me I'm a huge smart ass, I bought this camera for 70% off", it's communicating "Look at me I'm autistic and/or gay".

I need help too.

I've been meaning to get a Macbook Pro too for music production because this lately I'm all over the place except home, so I can't use my desktop enough and being able to produce on long train rides (which I'm on often) or if I'm bored some place or even at work when I have time would be amazing.

Thing is I'm a poorfag though, so I need to buy a used one. I wanted to know, how old would be too old, year/model-wise? I understand they last for years, but I don't want to buy one that's going to start slowing down and becoming obsolete within a year. Most the ones in my price range are 2010-11 and the odd 2012 one too, but ideally I'm looking for a 15", most of which are 2010-11s. Maybe it would just be a lot more wiser to buy a "normal" Windows based laptop, but I've had bad experiences with them and I've always seen how reliable my friends' MBPs are.

Thank you in advance for the help, if anyone does.

2010-2012 would be fine, certainly nothing made within those years will slow down from normal use any time soon. Who in this thread has that idea? I only see a couple of posts pertaining to it, with the rest just talking about what they find aesthetically pleasing.

I have a nice house. All of my furniture is nice. My appliances are nice. Why would I spend the bare minimum possible on a computer and end up with something made of thin plastic with a messy, ugly design that feels awful to hold and touch? And if someone tells me that all they're going to do is word processing and web surfing, I'll recommend a chromebook rather than assume that they want to buy a laptop for 1200$ or more. Personally, the one chromebook that I've ever used felt pretty nice for a 200$ laptop. Also, it seems like many people in this thread are university students, instead of people who own houses with nice appliances and furniture. Listen, bitch boy, most of the time it is right. What makes you believe what /fa/ finds /fa/ really is /fa/? Eh? This is a niche site, the normal public thinks you are clowns. That's why girls don't like you, that's why you are a little pussy. Most of the time what the general public finds cool, attractive and fashionable by DEFINITION - IS cool, attractive and fashionable.

Just because a bunch of teenagers think goth clothes are cool, does not mean that generally is cool.

they're not arguing that it's expensive.
the idea that you think it is proves you're a poor fag though.

the idea is why would people trade their more powerful home assembled machines in favor of a brand of pre-built computers marketed as easier to use and maintain

the argument is that the skill level is more advanced than the average end user.

an example would be

hey check out this automatic transmisson car, it's slower, more expensive, less reliable, and has less controls, and saftey features.

you should all buy it because all these people who refuse to learn to drive stick shift high horsepower cars refuse to learn the skill set necessary to operate such vehicles!!!

Just because I can afford one it doesn't mean I'm going to spend my money on one while I could get, let's say, an Asus that's the same price and two times better.

Indeed, I will buy one half the price that's more or less the same, because all I want to do with it is browse the interwebs and download music after all.
