How do you raw denim ppl keep your clothes clean of the rub-off? Seriously inquiring, because I don't want my shoes and undershirts ruined

>> No.8569433

give them a soak in cold water, that should get rid of all of the excess indigo dye

so wear it for a couple months and live with getting all my brand new kirks tinted blue?

>> No.8569992

>>8569772
it will shrink, about .25 of an inch. but the fades will not be affected. fades can't 'wash out'.

>> No.8570006

>>8569992
you'd think the indigo solved in the water would stain the fades. fuckin rawz, how do they work?

No, if I have a brand new pair do I soak them?

Can also presoak

>>8570043
yes, soak them.

>>8570006
in reality, indigo is a really shitty dye. that's why it fades. in order to get the indigo to adhere to something, you have to dip it in a metric fuckton of it. that's why washing doesn't 're-dye' fades, because there isn't enough indigo in the water to dye them

>>8570054
it should only stain the bottom of your white shirts barely and your shoes, depending on the color.

Should I flip inside out before soaking

Cuff your pants if the weft is touching the shoe then it will minimize the indigo transfer, assuming that you have white weft denim. If you want to get ghetto you can put some tape on the inside of your jeans so that it doesn't rub off.

everyone knows when you first buy raw denim you give it a soak to shrink it down to its true size so your fades match up properly and to stop exactly what youve made this thread about.
make sure its cold water and let it soak 20 minutes

>>8570287

its in the tub now

should I put it on a 5min spin cycle in the washer then hang?

you fucking idiot i told you to soak them for 20 minutes so why did you ignore that and put them in the wash?
all you had to do was toss some jeans into a bath tub and go do something else for 20 minutes and you cant even do that right.

if u soak them they will not bleed dye

>> No.8570761

>>8570747
a 20 minute soak bleeds a small enough amount of dye to not mess up all your clothes whilst also allowing for fades and a more snug fit.
putting them in the wash straight away makes buying raws pointless in the first place.
