When you look at your face in a mirror is a completely different process than a camera "looking" at you

You are taking a 3D object and projecting it on a 2D surface. Its the same reason map projections can't be accurate in both distance and shape

The camera has lenses too.

And your eyes have a blind spot right in the middle of it
