I think dark purple has potential.

It can work op, if it's a shade of purple that's damn near indistinguishable from black except in direct sunlight. Think eggplant.

I ran with dark purple in my mohawk for a little while, my natural hair color is black so I had to bleach it for full effect. It's nice, but unless you're planning on retouching it every month or so and content washing your hair a couple times a week with cold water, it'll fade pretty quickly. Here's a picture right after I got it dyed and 2 months later, washing it three times a week with cold water. The fade is real (and bad).

I think it needs to be longer for it to work. Like, shoulder length is too common, it's not very alternative. You'd have to be exceptional to pull it off. Unless you're like a 9/10, then do it. Saving that pic for inspo though, that is a beautiful colour/
