Does /fa/ wear a scent? I just went shopping today and decided on this one. Dude working the department was very /gayfa/ and helped a ton. Got a nice little sample of Tom Ford Noir out of it.

One million is very pleb tier. I personally the smell but the entire fragrance is ruined by teens/ethnics nearly killing me with it. Its potent so id reccommend 2 sprays max.

I recently bought some ysl la nuit de l'homme, I'm a pleased but a little disappointed with longevity

Also could any of you suggest a nice long lasting summer fragrance

Three sprays is a fine amount, usually don't want to do more unless the fragrance is on the weak side. I usually spray on the chest and wrist(s), rub wrists together then rub on sides of my neck. Sometimes add a third/fourth spray on my abs.

>> No.8495483

Depends on the fragrance.

Always start with two at most. If it dies too quickly, add another spray, or just respray later in the day.

You do not want to have the attitude of "I should be able to smell it on me all day long", because that means everybody else can smell you, and a fragrance is meant to mix with your natural body odour, not replace it.

Has anyone tried Paco Rabanne Pour Homme? It's old (1973) and it smells like barbershop/shaving cream. I'm 23 and my 21 year old girlfriend likes it more than my other, newer, colognes like YSL l'homme and Issey l'eau'd'issey. I like it a lot because it doesn't smell faggy like a lot of newer stuff.

Ive tried it, not exactly my style, doesnt suit me but it smells good, pretty much a timeless smell. I say go for it, if it suits you. The ladies love it too, or so I've heard (some won't of course).

the upside is that you can get it for dirt cheap online.

I've been sampling guys frags in dept stores over the last 2 days because I want to cop but fuck a blind buy. wi

Pleb opinions commence:
L'eau D'Issey : nope, theres a note in there reminiscent of bathroom cleaning solution. I wasn't the only one to pick up on this, had others with me sampling and they didn't rate it either.

Issey Yuzu: I swear this shit barely smells at all, hella faint, but I probably fucked up so whatever.

Chanel Allure: too aggressive / strong for me, brings to mind jock dudes in da club cruising for fuck

Bleu de Chanel: possible cop, seems very clean and fresh. Probably not very exciting but I'm not going for anything too powerful or flamboyant so it fits the bill.

Terre D'Hermes: seems crisp and sharp, doesn't have a "fresh" scent like BdC but seems similarly inoffensive, will possibly cop.

YSL L'Homme is nice whereas La Nuit is too powerful for me. The "seductive" or "alluring" frags don't really do it for me. I'm starting to see a pattern here, perhaps I'm a fucking faggot.

1 million: 1 million a shit. This isn't powerful or seductive, more like overly flamboyant and playful. It's like "SMELL ME :D I SMELL FUN DON'T I? :DDDdd" I'm not on that attention seeking grind so NOPE.

Bear in mind that I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about.

P-please respond

Spot on about 1 Million, and I mostly agree with you about the rest. I think L'Homme is fairly bland and forgettable though, and that La Nuit de L'Homme, while warm and boozy, is great for cool nights and cold weather. In late spring or summer, it will definitely be overwhelming.

I appreciate the input. As suggested I'll hold off on buying until I can try Terre / Bleu again. And I agree, i found YSL l'homme underwhelming even though it was pleasant. It didn't seem to have much character compared to all the others.

As a final contribution I've worn Paco Rabanne Pour Homme almost exclusively for a long time (literally babbys first fragrance.) I've found that it smells distinctly more old-school compared to the more modern ones I've been sampling. It's masculine, not powerful but not playful either. I'm starting to think its just a slightly "old-fashioned" scent, not that that's necessarily bad. It doesn't seem to last or project very well, and I'm reasonably sure others around me only get a faint hint of it when it's freshly applied and don't smell it at all as the day goes on. I think I need to apply it more aggressively.

I think you misunderstand what "niche" means. It's not some special line of fragrances from designers, cosmetic companies, luxury goods producers, etc., and it's not indicative of quality, accessibility, or originality. (and another YSL fragrance whose name escapes me)

That's about the only scents that /fa/ agrees on. (Mostly because they're very ordinary, unoffensive scents.) Anything else is personal choice-- might as well try any samples of what /fa/ recommends at Macy's or Sephora or their respective name-brand stores.

Just spray it on your wrist and smell it every 15 minutes to learn how the scent reacts to your skin and evolves (or devolves) over time.

Something vetivery.

Guerlain's Vetiver is good.
Creed's Vetiver I'm undecided on. It's more synthetic smelling than the above, but for some reason I kinda like that.

For something more heavy, good old Polo green. Smells like buggery in a hedge amongst the grass shavings after a round of soccer.

Or just go to this website to test every single niche fragrance as possible and give your own opinion on them.
I tried MDCI, Amuage, Creed, "Tom Ford", Etat Libre, and Le Labo.
My favorite was MDCI Invasion Barbare and Amuage Jubilation XXV, and Creed Green Irish Tweed.
The rest didn't fit my skin as well, but I really feel Invasion is my personal favorite for now.
Still haven't tried more though. Planning soon though.

>fall/winter
heavy, dark, warm fragrances. commonly ambery, boozy, smoky, leathery, and/or stronger woods and spices. sometimes reminiscent of incense, not necessarily in scent but how it lingers in the air.

it's really pretty intuitive, so much so i don't think you really need much in the way of experience to figure out when and where a scent would be most appropriate (weather and occassion are important to consider), though a little familiarity with different notes and types of fragrance definitely will help

>is there one all around/all the time scent I can purchase that I can have on all year?

There are some that are versatile like that. Bleu de Chanel, Terre d'Hermes, and Blvgari Blv/Blv Notte come to mind.

This. Girls lean towards the cologne their father wore. So if you really want to win a girl find out what her dad was spraying.

OP here. Update. Gay guy who sold me the cologne at Nordstrom called to check up on me today. Is this normal Nordstrom behavior, or does he want to pursue me?

I wanna smell like a modern day genius who is understated, but once you get close to him you grow an unhealthy obsession.

I was thinking lacing women's drinks with some form of drug. But if a cologne could do it that mite b cool.

no, girls just don't know what they like. some girl will just be on your dick and she won't even know why, she'll think it's just cuz you have chemistry and she just likes you but in reality it's because you have the perfect fragrance on, sick fit, your hair is on point, and your confidence is up. Don't be a faggot non.
