I'd say it depends mostly on your silhouette, larger - stronger guys should probably keep a straight leg to emphasize their size. Guys with thinner / smaller statures should try to keep the trousers slim.

I've been listening to a lot of 90s rap lately and I'm getting the impression that large, baggy jeans gave the effect of a well hung man - unfortunately that kind of down-spiraled into sagging pants (and consequently drop crotch). Just food for thought about what the size of pants might say in relation to the wearer.

one kind of jeans is not necessarily effay or not effay. skinny jeans aren't effay by definition. it's bout the silhouette as the anon above me said, and it always has been. the most /fa/ clothes will look completely dumb if they're not casting the proper silhouette.

>>8492364
btw that picture is terrible because the silhouette is terrible. in general you don't want your lower leg to look bigger than your upper leg, and that's exactly what those pants are doing.

Slim or no those are still too long. Not that guy though.

>>8492364

Depends how you wear them. The ones you posted aren't because they gather too much at the bottom and fuck up the whole silhouette.

>> No.8492519

For 90% of /fa/ tapered jeans are the way to go. As this anon >>8492415 said straight legs are for larger guys.

I'm fat and part of the problem is that they assume "you have a large waist size, therefore you have fat legs".

Even skinny jeans are pretty baggy on me, at least above the knee.

I would never wear regular or bootcut.

you really should though

skinny jeans aren't meant for fatties

But they're in my waist size, and then they look like slim jeans.

Luckily it's one of the big things that has inspired me to lose weight.

Hilarious new meme

>> No.8492669

>>8492657
Nope. I don't have any health problems that I'm aware of, it's the clothes that bother me. I used to be really skinny and I want to be at least slim again. Then I can buy nice clothes.

>>8492669

Well, whatever gets you motivated.

>> No.8492693

>>8492679
It's not the best motivation, but at least it's ultimately for a good thing.

But more on-topic, I think the general advice that "larger" people should buy straight/regular leg is a bad idea. Maybe if you're bursting with muscles perhaps, but most brands do make slim and skinny jeans in larger waist sizes for a reason.

> tfw small waist and narrow hips but muscular, chunky legs
> slim and skinny jeans that fit my legs are two sizes too big for my waist
> jeans that fit my waist can't be pulled past my calves
> all 'regular' jeans come in shit mid-blue washes, no black or grey in sight

Jeans appear to be built for fat people with big waistlines and chicken legs. T-shirts are all boxy with narrow shoulders and wide bodies.

> fashion pretends to be aimed at thin people, but it's really aimed at the fat people that make up the majority of western society.

Being tall with muscly legs and a v-taper is suffering.

I've just ordered levis 513's and apparently they are good for bigger people, i've got a large waist and muscular legs but don't want to look baggy wearing just regular jeans.
