What's your opinion on polyester blends (say 35% Polyester 65% Cotton)?
Is polyester in a piece of clothing's material an indicator of low quality or something?

It can be made out of 100% polyester and still be high quality, it depends.
If it's from ASOS and 100% polyester just assume it's going to be complete shit.

This bomber for example is all polyester, but you can still see that it's a high quality piece.

it all depends. there are cheap polyester knits and there are quality ones. it's not really an indicator.

if you're buying cheap shit, expect it to be shit. kinda like how cashmere sweaters from uniqlo are shit while cashmere sweaters from loro piana are excellent

Depends on the poly and how it's used. There are many techniques that are ONLY possible with polyester and other synthetics.

Don't forget colorfastness, too, though nylon is also common for that.
