So, here's my story.
I came here about a year ago looking a lot like I did in the pic on the left. My hair is wavy, curly, and very thick. I wanted advice on how to weight it down and keep it back, kinda like Christian bale in American Psycho.

The pic on the left is what I look like now. It's pretty much what I was going for but I think I want something shorter now. I'm basically working with the same length and volume in both pictures.

I currently apply conditioner, styling cream to weigh it down a little, and pomade and/or wax.

What do with hair?
I'm taking pills and putting agave oil on the ends to work out the split ends. I just need something new and I don't know what. Constantly considering bangs.

your hair is a bit too curly in the frizzy kind of way for that at the moment

if you want to get that look it needs to be more on the wavy side. get some sort of soft product to run through it that straightens those shorter hairs that curl up into little ringlets

Does anyone have any advice for having a completely smooth face for males? I am tired of shaving and I don't want to do an expensive laser treatment. I want something quick, relatively cheap to completely smooth out my face/slow down hair growth. I hate shaving, and it's bad for my skin. Sometimes I try to make it a little more safe by opening up my pores with hotter water and using extra shaving cream, and all of that jazz, but still.

Advice would be greatly appreciated.

I've grown my hair out long didn't really like it. I don't care what that alpha male YouTube guy says about hairstyles I know myself and know what looks right on me and having a shit fuck ton of hair on my head to soften my facial features looks like shit.
It sucks the undercut/manbUn has to be overplayed because it's a cut that I think fits me pretty well.

Everyone's different. Took me just a couple of weeks but I only used shampoo about once a week in the first place. I'm doing the whole bi-carb (baking) soda and ACV routine now and it's good but I've heard things about the soda being too alkaline for your hair so I dunno. If you can get away with just water then do it. Less stuff you have to put in your hair the better.

So do it. 90% of people wearing that style look shit in it. If you really have the right face/head for it then it doesn't matter if it's overplayed. You'll make it look good.

looking for a good pomade with strong hold and light/medium shine. Im using american crew at this time and its definitely too shiny + have to use hairspray to make the hold stronger (thus making my hair stiff and unpleasant to touch). Need your help in this matter - suggestions of other good hair products with nice hold that dont need hair spray to work and dont change the stiffness of your hair.

Tips on growing it out? Been growing mine since october, it looked good until about may, now it's looking like shit daily because of the mullet-y akward stage. My hair is very thick, will thinning it out or shaping it up help?

From someone that's grown their hair out multiple times both pre puberty (straight/wavy) and post puberty (very curly) I would say consider trimming the back. Your front hair grows slower than any other, and also since its higher on your head than the back of your neck is, it will take about 6 months to 1 year of growth depending on the curliness to make it even with the hair on the back of your neck.

When I was young and had hair like that I cut everything but the front bangs and let those grow longer. Imagine a longer haired version of the emo hair, then grew it from there. Consider letting your front catch up with the back or let it have a head start to prevent that perpetual mullet look that some people get.

Fortunately for myself I have very curly hair now after puberty so I can just do whatever and it looks cool. I have been growing it for 2 and a half years now from a 1/4 inch bald scalp with zero trimming

Tell them to use clippers on the sides, and then maybe shape up your hair a little with scissors on top.
They'll ask you what number clipper you want. The lower the number, the shorter the buzz it down. That's up to you, but I'd suggest starting high and then working down if you want it shorter.

I might add that a lot of people here like to leave it real long on top and keep it short on the sides, then gel the top up in a hipster pompadour.
Personally, I think it looks like shit, and I'd advise just going with a long-ish crew cut, but it's modern, I guess.

yea man its pomeade, use murrays that shit is magic. takes a few days to come out of your hair but i find that it keeps my hair soft and conditioned after its out. personally, since i like how it looks, i apply a small amount every day to maintain whats inside already, and i also shampoo or conditioner every day. i recommend putting pomeade in the shower since its easier to apply. if its your first day of putting it in you might wanna got a bit heavy on it like a teaspoon or so. i personally do like 1/3 of a teaspoon rub it into my palms, then hair and then do that 2 more times to get a more even consistency throughout the hair. its hard as fuck unless youre inside the water so i strongly recommend putting it int during a warm shower. i hate how it looks if its combed so i kinda just push my hair back with my fingers and it gets this dylan ryder texture to it. also, i have wavy hair and it turns straight with enough pomeade inside my hair. best of luck m8

In terms of facial hair, I got bored and shaved it but am growing it out again.
