You'll probably have to go down a size for boots. Your best bet is just to find a store that carries Red Wing and Wolverine 1000 Mile and try them on. Those are great, entry-level boots that will get you mad dick.

I own some Wolverine 1000 miles. There's a huge debate about 1ks & Iron Rangers. While IRs have the better construction, I just don't think they look nearly as nice.
As a general rule, brown is going to be most versatile. & most boots have you size down anywhere from .5 to 1.5 sizes.
