Well if you're ever in South Tampa, check it out. It's nothing amazing but it's pretty cheap and has a much bigger mens section than most thrift stores I've been to.
Honestly just about any thrift store you go to that isnt ridiculously small or shitty is bound to have some hidden gems somewhere in it. It's all a matter of knowing what to look for and how to wear it.
This entire outfit, including the belt was from sunshine. You can find a lot of really stupid graphic tees at thrift stores, which I'm quite partial to. this one says "Lazer Xtreme" on the front and back. Fuck yeah.

Copped a few oversized Brooks Brothers oxfords that I wore as dresses last summer at that Goodwill.

I got a long wool duster this past winter (March-ish) at Salvation Army for $20.

I also got some J. Crew and Brooks Brothers cashmere sweaters from Value Village and Goodwill.

I've gotten some interesting vintage denim (primarily cut offs) at Black Market in Toronto, along with a small satchel and a faux-leather crossbody that I take out with me to parties. In general, the downtown (Kensington Market) thrift stores a bit disappointing because they're picked over. Their buyers go out and find things (e.g. 1950s prom dresses or colorful petticoats or cowboy boots) and then they sell them there. it's boring because it's all the same. It is the equivalent of shopping in a vintage department store.

Consignment stores in Queen West and Yorkville are great. I consigned an Erdem silk blouse somewhere on Queen West for $40 a few months ago. We have Kind Exchange that allows you to consign your fast fashion pieces too, which can be convenient.

In Toronto sometimes you can get American Apparel dirt cheap at thrift stores (but usually not as cheap as the warehouse sale). Brooks Brothers, Club Monaco and J Crew are also easy to find.

When I was in Berlin, I found white leather low top sneakers with sewn on, niecely yellowed sole by Y-3 or Yamamoto himself, that looked exactly like Common Projects, with exact same sole (the Portugal one). Sadly, they were 2 sizes to big, but for like, 30 eurobucks it was a steal, no rips or anything, only a bit dirty.

Besides that, I'm usually buying knits at thrift because there isn't anything better where I live and you can find really nice of 100% cashmere or merino wool, and if they eventually start pilling, just throw them out.

from thrift, I've found bcbg skirt, dkny boots, lacoste polos, lots of vintage coach

I used to work in a consingment store on the ues in nyc
I've got 3 prada dresses, zac posen, philip lim blazer, lanvin rainvest thing I love, see by chloe pants, miu miu heels, theory everything, rag & bone boots, dress, skirts, port 1961 heels... I can't think of much more. I would post pics but I'm in hong kong now away from home.
also, some ebay store I bought a celine shearling

^_^ if anyone wants suggestions where to get consignment stuff in nyc or the bay area, let me know
also, if you want a deeper understanding of how consignment works. If you are ever in between jobs, I suggest working at a consignment store if you still feel like you want to continue expanding your wardrobe.

i-i didn't read the instructions...

the things I thrifted I mainly got from
angel thrift store and housing works in nyc

the consignment store I worked at was called second time around, it’s a chain
I got these there at their madison, broadway and another one I think it’s on 79th? on lexington location, all the things I listed were ranging from 45-209?
They price things at a third of the original retail price, depending on the location. And they put things on sale after they have been on the floor for a certain period of time

the other things I’ve gotten from places other than
>lanvin rainvest thing I love, found it in tokyo for around $50USD, they had some huge consignment store in …. shibuya? I don’t know where I was but it was multiple floors and awesome, sort of near the opening ceremony there.

>see by chloe pants, found at crossroads in rockridge(bay area), NWT(it was hiding in the pocket of the pants, priced originally for ~325) for only $35, NorCal does not know most brands, GO TO CONSIGNMENT THERE, THEY HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THEY’RE SELLING, IT’S AMAZING

>rag & bone boots $89 at my friend Maggy’s place on the outskirts of chinatown, she’s awesome

>the celine shearling I bought from ebay, I made a deal with the seller to also give me this old chloe coat, it’s white though, i’m too nervous I’d ruin it, together they were $125

yeeee buddyy

I don't think you should count consignment finds in this thread because those are curated to some extent; the nice consignment shops will carry tons of high end brands from rick to givenchy. I scored vintage helmut lang stuff from tokio7 without a ton of effort.

anyways, actual thrift find, $30
