I'm looking at buying some new optical glasses. However, I have a few problems which stand in my way. The first problem is that I live in a suburban area of Australia, which means that there is effectively no fashion. People care about fashion, but their idea of this is brightly coloured shorts, singlets, etc. So this greatly limits glasses selection, because in terms of sunglasses, there are basically two choices - wayfarers, clubmasters and occasionally those warby parker style ones. Optical glasses is a trainwreck. People either wear wayfarer-style "hipster" glasses (pretty much just big ones with thick black frames) or the rectangular wire-framed ones that are like 5 years out of date. Girls do have more variety, with many beginning to adopt the hippie look and getting round glasses. But again, these are only sunglasses.
