Topman is awful. As a poorfriend myself, I got into fashion about 4 years ago when everyone was still doing #menswear and it was almost like the only way to be considered fashionable.

Because of this, I was in need of various #menswear shirts, pants, shoes, etc, and being poor and skinny, Topman was basically my only option.

The quality is really hit-or-miss, but when it does hit, it's still right on the edge of being garbage, and only good for a few wears. When it's a miss, it's literally unwearable. I still have this one patterned shirt from them that I'll try on every now and again for kicks, and even when I have an undershirt on it still finds a way to be unbearably itchy somehow, I don't even know how they achieved this, it's a fucking feat. The collar on it is extremely flimsy, and even though it fits just fine, for some reason it's like there's two much fabric between the top button and the following button, so the excess fabric pushes the top button up a little and it fucks the collar up completely.

Rule of thumb: if you're going to buy a patterned shirt, go with a trusted brand and be willing to spend a little more (>=80 USD when not on sale). You can cheap out a bit with plain white oxfords, but still make sure to get them from at least some place like J. Crew, as the quality of the fabric is still very important and will be noticeable.

I hope this post is coming to you in time to convince you to not buy Topman shit. I don't know anything about Ben Sherman, so I suggest using the archive.

I wouldn't rely on whether the lines on the side are tucked into the sole of the shoe or not, some are tucked in and some have a corner sticking out. Mine are from 2010 and both lines are tucked it.

I think you'd really suit wearing sweaters, nothing with a pattern just a navy or black sweater would look perfect on you, you could even go for oversized sweaters and get away with it.

Other than that, slim fit jeans or skinny jeans (dark blue or black) would also look good.

I'd highly suggest avoiding graphic t-shirts if you have any, it will make you look immature, no offense but since you look quite young it just won't help.
Shoe-wise it won't have much to do with your face, but maybe just avoid typical teenager shoes.
Avoid loud colours, once again it would just make you look 'immature'.

TL;DR: sweaters, button-downs, skinny pants, decent shoes, obviously you can get away with a simple t-shirt.

Always get a crew neck for sweaters, avoid v-necks of anything it never really looks that good unless you look like Gosling.
