My pants never unroll during the day, once you get decent at pinrolling it's not an issue at all. I've never noticed anything nasty about not wearing socks either, I shower twice a day and spray a disinfectant solution in my shoes before I go to bed and they smell fine. If I really wanted to I could wear socks that are shorter than my shoes.
