Wondering the same thing. It's uncommon around here, so I thought I would give it a try. Really, it's a hit or miss with people. I get called Macklemore on the daily. It doesn't bother me too much, but on days I don't use product I have to cover it up.
Overall not a huge fan, just waiting for it to grow out and look decent again.

I'm currently a military fag and the HY is pretty much the only way to have somewhat longer hair and still be in regs.

Also, as a few people have already alluded to, it's a standard haircut. It's kind a like ventless suit jackets or Wayfarers: They've been around for ages and became really popular a few years ago, but that doesn't make it a "fad" and never really went out of fashion.
