I mean, it looks okay just after I've had a shower because I can kind of brush/dry it into a fluffy mess, which isn't too bad. But if I go more than, say, eight hours without a shower (or get caught in the rain) it gets really fucked up.

If she actually dresses in a unique or distinguished way, you can be like:

>hey, do you happen to be into fashion or something?
and maybe continue with something like
>dunno, somehow I get this creative/artsy vibe from the way you're dressed.

If she says no, end that subject with an actual compliment. After this, you should probably stop talking about fashion and start small talk or go for the aggressive and simply say she's hot and you wanna go out on a date with her or something.

If you approach a pleb bitch that just follows trends, she'll probably know you're trying to get sum. Depends on the person how that works out for you. It helps if you're attractive :)

I didn't load the statement, I wasn't acting creepy, I just politely commented her. At first she liked at me like I was about to molest her and said "thanks?" Honestly I've found that it's best to use a girl's fit to get her talking, and then switch to something else as SOON as possible. The longer you go on talking about clothes, the harder it will be to move onto something else, and the more likely your conversation will be to be a dead end. Also, if it seems like you care about her clothes more than her, she might think you're gay or just fashion obsessed.

Although I'm pretty sure this goes without saying, your fit needs to be on point. A good fit changes your comments from saying "I'm a guy who wants an excuse to talk to you" to "I'm a guy who notices and appreciates a common interest, and actually has a real reason to start a conversation."

From there it's easy street. Just start like you said:
>hey, I like your ____
>thanks

Then make a quick comment that's still about the original topic, but leads to something bigger, or is more personal:
>you like her hair
yeah, that length really suits you
>you like her top
i wish that style/pattern/whatever were more popular
>you like her shoes
i like when people actually care about their shoes

Seriously it sounds dumb, because it is dumb. It doesn't have to be profound. All you're trying to do is changer her attitude from "Who the fuck is this guy" to "Hey, thanks! Yeah you've got a good point blah blah blah" and it's actually really easy to do. After that little line you've usually either got her blushing, laughing, or agreeing, and you can just say "What's your name? I'm ____ " and shake her hand.

Ask for her name whenever you want, but only do it after she's interested in the conversation. If you introduce yourself at the very beginning, why would she bother remembering you? You're not important yet.

It's one of my favorite experiences to watch as a girl's face transforms from "fuck I have to deal with this kid hitting on me" to "oh shit he has nice clothes, too; this actually is a real conversation... btw I'm Sarah, what's your name?"

i mean do you actually really need an 'excuse' to start a conversation? I guess deep down everyone just wants to be paid attention and society seems to feel this need to just make sure everyone stays inside their own oblivious little bubble. >>8293202
Well I actually got complimented by a guy today, came into Starbucks and the barista just said "hey, I really like your boots! I have some similar ones, just....older." And then another time I was in line at Chic Fil A on campus and a grill made a comment about my CDG x Converse shoes and was impressed that I knew what Comme Des Garcons even was. You should remember that a good chunk of us on /fa/ are still in college/uni (and even high school too I guess).

On another occasion, I was walking past the multicultural centers on campus (/pol/ is always right?) where a handful of Blacks tend to hang out and one of the girls stepped out of conversation just to tell me she liked my shirt. It was flecktarn.
>Th-thanks, /fa/.
