Can we have a Doc Martin thread? Thinking of copping http://www.drmartens.com/us/Mens/Mens-Shoes/1461-FORLIFE/p/13377002 but want to see some fits first.

I think all Docs and Doc imitations look like toys or clown shoes what with the dayglow gumsoles and the yellow stitching.

But they are pretty versatile, easy to cop IRL and reasonably priced so I'm conflicted about them

Not the guy to which you replied: I've got a pair of solovair on order. If you order from the USA Docs site the Made in England Docs are actually cheaper, if I recall correctly.

"For life" Docs are cheaper than Made in England as well. Not sure how the quality is on them but that guarantee is pretty tempting, I think.

To be fair it's mostly grills wearing ANY kinds of Docs today, I reckon. At least it is here. So I'm not entirely sure how heavy the colour the shade would weigh in that perception.

If the cherry/red colour makes you uncomfortable you can do the old skinhead trick: polish them with black to make oxblood.

Selling a pair of Made in England 1460 oxblood size 9uk (fits US10-10.5) they're in 8/10 condition.
Toe box and ankle have been broken in nicely but everything else is nice and stiff like it should.
THESE HAVE LEATHR OF MUCH BETTER QUALITY THAN THE PLASTIC ORIGINALS.
After some wear ive realized my right toe is too large to fit comfortably :((
They retail for $200
http://www.drmartens.com/us/Mens/Mens-Boots/VINTAGE-1460/p/12308601

Shoot me an offer. Email me. I know this isn't a bst thread etcetc

They've been polished with black so they look like a true oxblood and not cherry.

the whole top part of the boot isn't visible in the first picture, and the tongue is visible in the second picture it's just a weird angle. unless you mean like seeing the tongue through the laces at the bottom of the eyelets, because i wasn't able to close them all the way like that when i got them, i think it's the leather stretching from being pulled hard af from all the walking i do.
they are a tiny bit roomy, but a size down is too small.

I have no idea what it costs. Getting things from the USA typically costs $40-50. So, presumably it would be similar from me to you.

I think second-hand M.I.E. Docs typically go for about $50 on eBay, right?
So, if you're looking at $50 for the boots and $50 for shipping that's getting close half the price of new ones on the US docs site, converted to Australian dollaridoos.

If I were you I'd just get 'em new.
