I just find hoddies impractical. It's hard to keep the hood hanging symmetrically, esp. on zipper hoodies.
Also, the hood gets in the way when I wanna put on backpacks.
Third, often the hood is rather useless. On waterproof jackets, they do help during rain. On cotton hooded sweaters, they can maybe keep your head warm at best, but when turning your head, you'll be staring right into the side of the hood.
