i'd say melbourne uni is your ultimate, it's the most prestigious but also has a great inner-city location - also the hardest to get in to of course
rmit is also right in the heart of the cbd which is probably the best criteria for avoiding bogans and being close to other fun stuff
monash is the other big university in melbourne, it has a great academic reputation and you'll probably have a good time there, it's in the south eastern suburbs
swinburne is ok, inner eastern suburbs ; latrobe is meh, outer northern ; i think that's it, deakin is in geelong or something
