I'm traveling for 2 months this summer. Starting in South America, hiking and bus hopping all around there from top to bottom in a month, and then flying to Italy and chilling there for a month.

I need to pack way light. I'm taking a pair of white CPs, a pair of converse, and a pair of hiking boots. On top of this I need to pack light clothes.

Help me assemble as light weight of a wardrobe as I can. Again, I'll be carrying this stuff with me for 2 months. Everything I carry has to be very versatile.

I'll also be with the same two people, so I need to bring enough clothes that I won't look the same every day.

Help?

Don't be stupid, converses are awful for walking any distance, and in general so are cps, get a pair of nikes or something to wear instead of converses which you can use in the city.

Have a look around some flashpacking blogs, it's a great resource for assembling a wardrobe you can travel the world with.

I'll consider buying some nikes, I just had some old converse i was going to wear for when I was like going through nasty ass places in South America.

Maybe I'll hit up some thrift stores and try to find some cheap new balance/nikes/whatever and just throw them away before I hop on my flight to Italy

I love the idea of owning something like a light merino jacket, an ultralight down jacket and a waterproof shell and being ready for any climate.

>CPs, a pair of converse, and a pair of hiking boots
your first mistake is taking three pairs.
dumb fucks who have never been backpacking before think hiking boots are always a good idea but trust me you barely need them and they take up far too much room for what they are.

is right converse are shitty get some comfy black nikes for trekking in and save the cps/another pair for when you're hitting the bars or just going around town.
>On top of this I need to pack light clothes.
this site could be useful http://snarkynomad.com/ultimate-ultralight-travel-packing-list/
i'd recommend taking plain clothes since they are the most versatile ideally ones you can wash in a sink for the next day but merino t-shirts from Outlier are god tier since you dont have to clean them as often and pair of Outlier slim-dungarees is all you'll need but the climbers are also pretty great.
>so I need to bring enough clothes that I won't look the same every day.
a 30 liter bag is travelling light and with the shit you'll need you wont be rocking a different fit everyday.
outlier does lightweight durable stuff that may seem pricey but those two pairs will last and hold up the entire trip looking /fa/ in the bars whilst functioning on the trails.

I just have a pair of favorite boots that I always hike in around here. Thought I'd bring them for the mountains and such. I'll consider trying to find some beater nikes/new balances to fill both the role of beater and hiking shoe.

Thanks for the advice.

just wear whatever footwear you can find thats comfy, light weight and waterproof.
you cant fuck around when it comes to footwear whilst traveling it can ruin the entire trip.
