I have the same problem brah, gets worse in winter wearing a coat.

I deal with it like a man, and don't post about it on the bloody internet

I ensure my hair is largely knot-free the night before. Next morning I run my hands through my hair to remove them; i find it less harsh than a brush

if theres big or tight knots, i use more conditioner and smooth out after

you can get spray that helps to get knots out while combing, never tried. But there's a childerns one thats orange scented, which may be gr888 4 u

Just brush your hair every morning, you can always rough it up again if you're that way inclined.
I'm going to assume you're a guy, so here's some advice: going from short hair to long hair, you don't notice how much hair you lose on a daily basis. There's a decent amount which comes out each day, check any girl's hairbrush for proof of this. One time when I didn't brush my hair for a couple of days and then ran my fingers through it I though I had alopecia or something, but it turns out its just natural.

You might want to change up your maintenance routine if your knots are tough to get out, I'm 2 years nopoo and 1.5 years nocut, and knots come out of my hair no problem.

Yeah I'm a guy. I don't have any maintenance routine. No shampoo, conditioner, body wash, soap, nothing. I just wet my hair when I shower and rub myself.
