That's branding for you

It smells good and has the same ingredients as a lot of other pomades

Look at the tin and tell me who their primary demographic is

TANCHO is my go to pomade normally, but if not that, i will use murrays softened with a little bit of brylcreem to keep my hair more pliable and allow for easier recombing.

Anything american crew is dog shit. Their pomade is terrible. If you want something easier to wash, give tancho a shot. It washes out with a normal shampoo and doesn't need the old olive oil, dish soap routine to wash out. Or you could try layrite i guess, but that feels more like gel to me. I am forced to wear a hat at work every time i go outside, so being able to recomb my hair after entering a building and removing my hat is a big deal.

Which pommade has the least harmful chemicals? I want to be as clean as possible because I want to avoid problems with thinning hair.

>> No.8129043

With pomade, it won't be the chemicals taking your hair out, it will be your comb pulling through the heavy product in your hair.

Anyway, they are mainly just different mixtures of petrolatum and wax, with different dyes and scents

so you're saying I shouldn't use a brush....but that's asking a bit.

I like American Crew back when I had a modern pomp.

Now it's too shiny for my current hair.

I only use water based pomades since it's the easiest to wash out and still provides great hold all day long.

Imperial Classic Pomade
Layrite Super Hold Deluxe
JS Sloane Heavy Weight

These all worked quite well for me and I finish them off with some hairspray.

They do have one that is almost devoid of sheen
