well, seeing as i live in the sticks of Colorado, being mugged is towards the bottom of my lists of concerns. i'm much more likely to be mauled by a bear or cougar, and if that were to happen i don't think a little pocket knife if going to help me much haha.

i guess it's more of a geological thing - all of the men in my family all carry a pocket knife with them.

I always carry around a Swiss Army Camper. Yes, I'm a pleb, I will admit that. When I have to open packages or cut up bundling, that's when I use the knife. More often that not, though, I find the bottle opener to be the most used thing. The tweezers are a close second, along with the screwdriver thing.

I used to carry around my Buck knife, a memento from my childhood, but some people are uncomfortable with it.

this. unless if you're camping or hunting or something, a knife that's bigger than the small front pocket in your jeans you'll look like an over-compensating douche.

>> No.8081606

As for the people calling knives "autistic", there is some truth to what they are saying. Carrying a stilleto around is no good. Nobody likes the twat that carries a switchblade either. I need not mention the high school stabbings from earlier (God help us all).

However, a multi-tool or a Swiss Army knife is pretty damned useful for a student or a desk diver. They are like the jack-of-all-trades, but masters of none, and yet they prove their worth when the time comes.

It all depends on what the knife has. If it's under three and a half inches, but has a lock, serrations, a molded grip, or anything"tactical" like a thumb disc, then it can be seen as a knife with no utility purposes and therefore not legal to carry concealed. Or something like that.
I live in Florida and the knife laws are so convoluted here.

A sheepsfoot blade has a straight edge and a straight dull back that curves towards the edge at the end. It gives the most control, because the dull back edge is made to be held by fingers. Sheepsfoot blades were originally made to trim the hooves of sheep. Their shape bears no similarity to the foot of a sheep.[9]

I'm not interested in hurting people. I'd always call the cops or run before I pulled a gun (you'd have to be crazy, or damn near dead to pull a gun).
