Anyone have experience with Clarks'?

Thinking 'bout getting myself a pair of DBs in black but heard bad things about the quality of the construction.

Get Clarks, but do NOT get them in black, you'll look autistic as fuck.

>> No.8061041

I have a pair, and it's been 2 years and they're now just wearing out. Most people get a year out of them.

They're cheap though, that's a plus. Some of my other Clark's footwear last a lot longer.

>> No.8061053

I got some DB's, I don't know if its just my pair but I got them direct from the clarks website, the laces feel really fucking cheap, they tore my heels up until I wore them in, never had shoes so bad. The insole also doesnt even extend to the toe, its there at the heel where you can see it but the ball of your food has no insole below it, just some weird felt material. I don't understand why /fa/ likes them so much.
If I knew I could get them with full insoles and wouldn't have to wear them in again I would definitely cop the beeswax ones though.

If you bother to take care of them they can last quite a while. Clean them, air them out, treat the leather. I've had mine for roughly 4 years and I think more I wear them, the more I like them. You're gunna want to put in a sole though, as CDBs can be rather uncomfortable.

~8 months of wear in a rotation, getting a bit beat up.
bout to nikwax 'em again, they'll turn pretty and dark again, and all the scratches buff out.

But then again, I'm a bit biased because I always associate CDBs with a more rustic, heritage look, and I don't really picture black skinnies fitting in with that stuff.

Bought Malis (with green crepe sole, fresh as fuck) ~3 months ago

Maybe it's that high-quality Vietnamese craftsmanship or maybe I'm an oafish brute but the laces lasted 1.5 months, I replaced them with boot laces though and things seem okay.

Sole seems to be holding up.
Leather is noice, scuffs easily but the scuffs fade quickly too.

Overall do cop if you want a lightweight boot but they don't seem awfully durable.
I wear them around a lot and they seem to be holding up okay though, so maybe that's just me bein goverly cautious.

Also it's more unique than CDBs and you'll feel more original
