if your feet are small/proportional to your height consider slim penny loafers in a dark but not black colour

sales pitch: you can wear em sockless with blacks (either cropped or pinrolled), you can wear em with shorts (so long as they're dark enough) and you can wear them this winter if you've got a casual-but-not-too-casual event (you know a kinda party where everyone wears a shirt but nobody wears a blazer)
