8002111 No.8002111[DELETED]  [Reply] [Original]

Going to be in London this weekend and I definitely want to hit up some of the shops.

My only plans so far are to visit a Uniqlo finally to see what all the fuss is about and to check out Selfridges and Harrods, not necessarily to buy anything but just to see what they're like.

Are there any areas that /fa/ would recommend I check out? I don't mind looking at very expensive places but I'm probably not going to spend anything more expensive than AllSaints unless it's very nice.

Besides, I've already got a pair sneakers I like that work in my general fits so I'm more or less covered in that area.

They're very central locations, so only a few miles away from each other.

This and Garbstore in Covent Garden too

Start London is pretty decent too, they have Margiela, Common Projects, Helmut Lang etc

There's fast fashion spots all over the place so no need to worry on that front. Be sure to go to the National Gallery, The Tate Modern etc, all around the Tate is beautiful near where St. Paul's Cathedral is. Oh, and there's a fantastic pizzeria in between the Sherlock Holmes tour bus and Madame Tussauds. I live up here in Liverpool/Manchester but I love going to London

Have you never been in a high-end boutique? Zara and Alexander Wang don't count. I've never NOT been offered water or coffee in a Rick, Lanvin, or Celine store. Multi-brand boutiques like Atelier, Darklands, Satorialoft to name a few are the same (Darklands and Atelier will sometimes give you champagne.)

Of course if you look like some fucking jackoff who's just there to wipe your greasy hands all over the jackets and leave they're not going to pay you any attention. That being said, I almost never buy things at retail and have literally never bought something from a brand flagship ... but because I take the experience seriously, engage with the SAs (especially in Rick stores, they are always lifelong Rick fans and really fun to talk to) and don't dress like a teenager hentai "enthusiast" the shop assistants treat me with respect. Up until the advent of the online age (and even now) the customer experience was one of the most important facets of the boutique.
