i didn't say i browsed 4chan 10 years ago, the Internet isn't all about 4chan. I was a Internet nerd, not a nerd overall, i had friends and went to play outside but half of my time i spent it on my computer listening to ''underground'' bands and music in general, learning about science& nature facts and playing online games (never turned into a hardcore gamer tho)

I once wrote an essay that was translated and published in a foreign journal and became rather influential within a certain niche community in that country.
