Most even the cheapest glasses offer good UV protection. It doesn't really cost anything in the manufacturing process to apply. Don't fall to the Luxxotica propaganda that if you don't buy their 150$ glasses (whose price is 70% cartel anyway) you will go blind.

Also, for example any sunglasses with most basic consumer certificates such as CE are safe for eyesight for sure.

I'll spare you the long story, but a few years back I went to get lasik and they told me to wait for the optician. In walked my ex. anyway, she taught me a lot about this topic. (true or not; take this for what it's worth.)

expensive sunglasses have the uv layer built into the glasses. cheap sunglasses have a uv coating that is either applied or sprayed on. this coating will rub off in time. the problm is your eyes are dilated because you're wearing sunglasses, so you pupils are letting in even more uv rays than if youy weren't wearing any glasses at all.

tl;dr: buy the more expensive glasses.. fuck fashion. do it for your eyes.
