false. techwear is good for ss as well. merino wool regulates heat, dries faster, wicks sweat, and is smell resistant. there are lots of synthetics for warmer climates. thin windstopper jackets can be used for any season as well. they are a softshell that doesn't provide warmth but will keep your body temp warm by blocking wind and light showers.

>>implying it gets cold
not in my area, but i could travel a bit upstate in winter and use the gear to go snowboarding with. there's a reason techwear isn't huge in america - the market is pretty small. gore even laxed their incredibly strict licencing policies to japanese companies because they produce so much raingear. the northface purple label is japan only and specialized in this as well. northern and western europe has a huge demand for this kind of apparel as well.

>>implying wasting job money on one techwear piece is good when you could buy 50 better looking pieces of something else
i didn't say that. i spend my money if its worth it. i judge the pieces i buy qualitatively, not quantitatively. if it will bring me a lot of happiness and i must have it, i dont care what the price is. having 50 pieces is far too many of anything in my book. yes, i would rather spend it on something more specific and meaningful. it would take me much longer to wear out 50 pieces, and i might not even like wearing them anymore by that time.
