Go with a fringe and leave it long on the sides.

For your next haircut, go to a hairstylist and not a barber. Ask her to do a lot of texturizing. It seems like your hair is naturally straight and you just sweep it into place, but I have a few alternatives you should look at.

Tousling. After you put product in there, grab a small section, then roll it between your index finger and your thumb a few times. Repeat with another section.

Piecing. I'm horrible at piecing my hair so I'll let you watch a youtube tutorial for that one.

Experiment with scrunching too, if you feel like it.

Watch a few youtube tutorials (usually it's by a metrosexual 16 year old who can style hair like nobody's business)

Once you come from work/school/whatever and you're settled in for the night, take any amount of time and style your hair. Play with it. Take a few pictures. It'll look bad the first few times, but after about 10 tries you'll get it.

A decent stylist actually did that one, by the way. My hair's just a challenge, I don't really hold it against people when they can't make it look too great. Not sure I particularly like what's going on in your pic but it could just be the age of the person wearing it like that.
