are daytons in such high demand that buying them second hand/ebay/ under retail is near impossible?
I want a pair, I think I might shell out the $400, I don't know what else to do.

>> No.7882245

I know this isn't exactly great advise, but these looks like pretty basic boots, why not try finding an alternative instead of shelling out $400 for a 2nd hand pair?

pr.. pRETTY BASIC?

I think the word you're looking for is ubiquitous.
finding good quality with a silhouette as flawless as that is few and far between.

it's not that they're particularly high demand items, it's just they're a small operation and don't produce that many service boots a year anyway

they're not like red wing or wolverine that churn out thousands of units a year.

it's just that there aren't enough out there to be bought, and those that buy their urban boots (not talking at all about their work boots) aren't likely to be selling them after waiting months and months and months for the fuckers to be built and sent to you.

>months and months and months
oh.
well then I guess $400 it is, they look like I made them myself.

nice
you could get some obenaufs for them though, that stuff livens leather up like no oil can

What leather did you choose?

>you could get some obenaufs for them though, that stuff livens leather up like no oil can
which obenaufs? I know there's a waterproofing version that's apparenltly overkill for boots used in urban environments, but do they make a leather conditioner as well?

You do know what ubiquitous means, right?

Anyway, I agree with >>7882245

They look fairly basic/generic. I know they're very well made, but I think you could find something cheaper that looks the same, if not better.

obenaufs LP and oil
one's wax, one's oil
wax once a year, oil whenever.
I've had wax on my fryes for two years and they have no smell, no tack, and water mud and salt has barely left a mark.
