I noticed APC has started advertising its raw denim as Japanese. Has anyone on here bought any of their denim recently and know if the quality has increased or if it's the same as always?

They have always claimed it was Japanese. It just wasn't advertised everywhere. Some (mainly APC competitors) say the Japanese company APC gets their raw selvedge denim from outsources it from a Chinese factory and claim it is inferior, so make of that what you will.

One thing is for sure -- APC fadez are the nicest around and their cuts are second to none if you get the right fit for yourself

I don't really remember if that is correct or not, but they definitely haven't claimed it on their webshop before. Didn't they use Turkish (or something) cotton in the past?

Also, do they still produce in Macau?

Yes they always have, on the french website at least, and for all their cuts except the New Cures which I think aren't selvedge.

And yes they're still having them produced in Macau. Their denim is really nice for an entry level/mid tier pair, but the fact that the price has increased so much in the past few years and that they're now making them in china ("macau" is just a polite way to say "made in china") means it's starting to become a bit too expensive for what it really is. I'm wearing a pair right now but if they were more expensive than what they are now I probably wouldn't buy another pair.

Some of their denim, the black raws anyway, is made in Japan I believe. But I think it's random whether you get a pair from Japan or Macau.

Related question, does APC raw denim ever go on sale anywhere? The stores I know of that carry it (in Europe) always sell out before sale season.

>> No.7849376

>>7849342
They're not supposed to. They're never discounted by APC and I'm pretty sure they ask their retailers not to discount the raws either.

Sometimes you can get a promotional code on some websites that would effectively give you a discount, but it would never be explicitly for the APC denim

Every now and again I have come across a sale on END, but that's about it. your best bet is going on Ebay and finding a pair someone tried on bought, wore once or twice and decided it was not for them. Tones of pairs like that. Unless you need lower than size 28, than you are really stuck as no other raw denim producer I know of goes that small, and sizes that small never seem to make it to ebay. That feel when 27 inch waist, and no-one else to buy from.

Also Fuck 3sixteen APC rises are high enough, I'm not tall enough for their stupidly high rise.

It's the APC website.

I've seen plenty of apc jeans go on sale, but it's usually like light wash petit news and shit, not the standard indigo ns or ps. I got my petits for 15 percent off when east dane did their whole inventory sale when they first opened. 15 percent isn't much though
