Does anyone here wear blazers often?

I was unaware of the layering possibilities of a blazer.

Pineapple head in pic related taught me to wear a long coat over a blazer.

What are /fa/'s thoughts on such a style?

Will post more inspo as I find it lurking sz.

Very much depends. If the different is very deliberate and not just off by a shade or two, black and navy can be a very sophisticated combination. But it's definitely harder because you have to ensure that the colors work together instead of just looking like a mis-match.

I do but it's more preppy and only for work

I get what you are saying, I have a visualization in my head of the shade of navy you are referring to.

I'm trying to brainstorm ideas for wearing a black blazer I recently copped. Would you consider wearing black jeans with it a good idea? Or just stick to trousers?

Just depends on what look you're going for.

Guess I'll assume jeans for a more casual look then.

It's like /fa/ has gone full autism mode.
Anyone who wears a fit like that is going to be labeled as an anime nerd.

I don't mind the idea of a topcoat over a suit, but the specific proportions there aren't my cup of tea. It's just a matter of execution not of "anime" or whatever.

Blazers are literally the most autistic thing to wear.

I like the cut of your jib, non-autist. Thank you for not being autistic.

No, it looks like you got dressed in the dark.

Though I only wear blazers as part of going to work "menswear"-type fits, so I might be closed-minded to streetwear applications of the blazer.

Well I mean wearing a blazer with a top coat is so firmly rooted in business attire that it makes it hard to bring that combination into the casual environment high fashion or not. And this is coming from someone who loves topcoats.

>> No.7817878

>>7817849

I don't follow. There are plenty of designers who work with tailoring in a non-dress context. I don't think anyone would confuse something like a Devoa coat with something from Belvest.

I was talking more specifically about the blazer under top coat combination not the top coat itself. There are some coats that can look casual over a blazer but I have yet to see a top coat worn over any blazer that doesn't either scream business exec or autism

I very much believe that this has more to do with how little you've seen than it does with the wearability of a coat over a jacket.
