I can't seem to find a straight answer through google about the sizing of APC Petit Standards. I have found a pair tagged 32 with a measured waist of 32, but that will stretch considerably, correct? Bad idea to cop those if my waist is 32 around?

I have a 32 inch waist and wear a size 28. What size do you typically wear, op, and where do you live?

>> No.7794061

Yes. I'd say my size 30s have stretched to around a 33" waist after all is said and done

If it's a tag size 28, they really measure 29 inches at the waist. So that's only downsizing 3 which is fairly common, although it indeed is serious downsizing, APC jeans tend to stretch more than other brands.

The tighter they are at first, the more they'll stretch. If they're just tight enough that you have trouble buttoning the last button or the last two buttons, you should be fine. If you can button them all down without any problems, it's going to be too big after a few weeks : not because the tightness will make them stretch, but because anytime you lean forward or sit down, there will be pressure on the waist and it'll become looser.

You should always size down at the very least 1 (from the tag size that is), 2 is a better idea and 3 is required in some cases. Don't only take the waist in consideration though, making sure the thighs are tight at first (can't pinch the fabric on your thighs) and that the leg opening isn't too narrow for your shoes...

And overall you should feel good about yourself when you try it on, like "yeah I'm rocking those". If not it probably won't get better with time so don't cop.

last thing : if you size down too much, you might not be able to fit your balls comfortably in there so watch out of that too.
