How much does dressing well cost?
>be 20
>6'2" and 220 lbs
>be student
>usually dress in jeans + tshirt + hoodie + hat
and that's my whole wardrobe
I'm a solid 8/10 and if I lost 15 pounds and started dressing sharp i'd be a solid 9.5/10.

So how much would I have to invest to have at least a weeks worth of nice, quality clothes that I wouldn't look homeless in?

>> No.7759329

depends on how far you want to go, could be anywhere from a few hundred to thousands of dollars

>> No.7759336

well lets say its a starter set, that will develop over the years.

Also where would I start looking for clothes that aren't necessarily name brands, but will look good.

That's a question with no real definitive answer.

I'd say you could build a pretty solid foundation for under $1,000.

You seem to be over-estimating yourself if you think you're an 8 without losing weight.

Well anyways like the other anons said it depends on what style you're looking for and how much variation you want. Avant-Garde is going to cost more than muh basics for example

Also remember if you actually are ugly no matter how much you try you're going to look like a try hard.

haha ladies ladies, no over estimates here, I'm a sexy piece of man. Anyway the 15 pounds would result in abbs which would add a point of sexy my way.

Well the thing is that "Dressing well" does not really have anything to do with the cost of your clothes.

Dressing well connotates an amount of skill, and therefore implies that you have a good sense of coordination in your outfits and that your clothes fit properly. You can be wearing an expensive blazer, pants, shirt, and shoes, that all fit terribly and have mismatched colors/patterns/fabrics. Meanwhile you can be like JGL over here, be wearing inexpensive clothes, and still look fine, if not great.

So really, it's not cost you need to worry about. It's about fit an coordination. After all, James Dean is considered a fashion icon, and all he ever really wore were jeans, t-shirts, and occasionally a jacket.

Throw away all your graphic tees and sports sweatshirts, learn a little bit about color coordination (sticky), and get pants that actually fit you.

Also, dont be a pig-headed fucker. If you're overweight and have a shitty wardrobe you're a 5/10 at best

While I agree with the blazer sleeves and lapel, I don't really find anything loud about a b&w striped tee.

This is a good basic fit only an autist like you would try to find a problem with
