I agree, America belongs at the top, though personally I would make the best possible position 9001, with less superior countries (which is any country that isn't USA) being below 9000. Not just because bigger equals better, but because being over 9000 is a meme and attributed to significant strength and power, which is a perfect representation of America.

I am aware someone will make a pun about fat people, playing the expression "bigger is better", and others will post pictures of severely obese people, in an attempt to mock the country I proudly call home. However, they are simply supporting the fact that America is the greatest country due to our wide (no pun intended) variety of people, and our mesh of cultures. Like this post if you like America.

Just because you don't personally like McNairy doesn't mean his presence isn't there, #menswear isn't my kick at all, but it's still hyper present in high end fashion - Pitti Uomo's success is a testament to that. Klein has done some progressive stuff recently, going into some interesting sportswear-inspired tangents, but also still playing with proportion and doing some great printwork. I haven't kept many tabs on Perry Ellis, but with precedent, I can't imagine they're doing very much interesting as a house. (And a brief mention although I personally find him as an unimaginative prick, Marc Jacobs.)

You're right about Rick though, but I do think his roots should still be acknowledged - but as you said, not really representing the United States fashion scene at all.

I think generally the US fashion scene is pretty behind in terms of progressive design, but they still maintain a presence and do have some prominent outliers.

[But I'll go ahead and say the average American is horribly unfashionable and lacks style.)
