Can /fa/ explain the toe on these docs? All of the 1460s I've seen have a bigger toe and don't seem as sleek as these

Never mind I think I figured it out. They're different types of 1460 and they only seem to sell the bigger type where I live.

i have some 1461s that used to be bulky but have gotten much sleeker over the years.

since people ask similar questions, ill write a long ass post and save for reposting;


dr martens does a ton of different, but very similar, looking shoes so knowing what is what can be pretty hard.

first of all they use a lot of different types of leather and leather treatments, the difference can be really hard to see in pictures, but they can feel and age very differently depening on what leather they are, so if you are buying online make sure to know what leather you are buying.

dm produce their shoes in several different factories in several different countries(mainly thailand, china, vietnam and england), they source different materials and use slightly different different lasts(a molding thingy that the shoe is shaped after), the changes inside of the company has also made a difference on their products.

eg. the thai, chinese, viet, new mie, old mie, the 'for life' collection and the 'vintage' -shoes are all slightly different.
