First Impressions:
I’ve only held a genuine Omega once and it wasn’t the same model so I have little for comparison. I’ll be trying to review things impartially. If you bothered to take a look at the links, the watch is fairly accurately described by the site that sold it. The only thing I’d have doubts about is the water-resistance.

Also, if it isn't already clear, this is a replica Omega.

The watch uses the “Asian 21-jewel movement” aka DG2813/NN2813 aka Mingzhu. It’s a Miyota 8215 clone with an added hack function. As a clone of the Miyota, it also has indirect center seconds with potential for stutter, detailed here (bottom):
http://people.timezone.com/library/horologium/horologium631670098360080701
Some manufacturers prefer the direct center seconds for this very reason. A comparison between the Miyota and its various clones and relatives can be found here:
http://forums.watchuseek.com/f72/miyota-8215-similar-clone-movements-compared-537075.html
The DG2813 is obviously very different from the movement inside a genuine Omega. It suffices to say that the anyone with a passing familiarity with the inside of a watch will recognize this as fake.

Before I go any further, bear in mind that this is a used replica watch. I'm fairly certain the previous owner opened it before it got to me.

The watch was not running on arrival. The original owner had it for < 2years before it began exhibiting problems. I assume it was working fine until that time. As noted, the minute hand is loose on the canon pinion, so hand alignment with the hour hand is off. The seconds hand appears to be bent up at an angle, maybe touching the glass. This could be what’s preventing the watch from running. There also appears to be some kind of residue on the minute hand. It could be oil from human skin.

When the crown is unscrewed, turning it in the first position, which should wind the watch, instead, moves the hands. This leads me to believe that there is an issue with the keyless works, detailed here:
http://people.timezone.com/library/horologium/horologium0038

There’s some dust on the dial and a few fibers of unknown material. The owner didn’t like the logo, printed details, the date wheel, or the caseback. I can’t comment on all of that but I will say that every replica has its tells and finding all of them for a single replica is a lot of work. In the short time that I researched, the 4 that stuck out to me are the logo and the hour markers. When Omega applies the word OMEGA to their dials, the letters are strung together in the center of each letter. This replica strings them together at the bottom. The sides of the two 12 o’clock markers that face each other should be parallel. The replica manufacturer appears to have reused the same hour markers for the 12 o’clock marker. The hour markers themselves appear to be a bit short. The seconds hand is too. Lastly, the caseback is solid, when it should be display, in order to show the co-axial movement. But, since this obviously doesn’t have that, the manufacturer opted for solid. The owner also described the dial as “easy to scratch, like a sticker”. Under my loupe, I don’t see any scratches from the loose minute hand yet, but if everything is restored properly, there won’t be any reason for the dial to be scratched.

Here ends all the prepared text.

I've since finished repairing this watch but I'll get to that later.

If memory serves me, the laser etching on the back of the bracelet was just a tad misaligned. I'd imagine Omega wouldn't let one of their bracelets leave the factory if the etching was very close to running perfectly parallel to the deployant part of the bracelet.

The dial side isn't very nice to look at but it's still functional. One of the screws had a bit of rust on it for whatever reason.

You'll also notice that there appears to be a whole other gear/wheel missing and multiple parts that have no apparent purpose. I'm pretty sure that's because this movement was originally the DG2803, which is a day-date movement. The assembler may have ran out of the DG2813 and simply removed the day wheel.

I didn't take pictures on the day of the repair but this will do. This is the DG4813 which is of the same design, just thinner.

As I expected, the problem was in the keyless works. The clutch lever (green oval) was not resting on the clutch. Instead, it was where the red oval is; the clutch had slipped out from under the clutch lever. The clutch lever is under tension and pushes the clutch towards the center of the watch, in the direction of the red arrow. This forces the watch into its time-setting mode, which explains why the hands were moving when I tried to wind the watch. Additionally, because this watch hacks (i.e. the watch stops when you try to set the time), the hack lever (not pictured here; it also rests on the clutch but on the interior of the movement) arrested the wheel train and the watch could not run.

The blurry screw in the red circle was missing for whatever reason and it may have been that, because this screw was missing, the clutch lever was more loose than it should have been, allowing the clutch to slip out from under it.

>> No.7698355

After putting things back where they should have been and replacing the missing screw, the watch ran fine.

As is commonly reported with these watches, nothing was oiled. So I oiled it, though, I don't use the proper tools to oil and it's said that over-oiling does more harm than good.

I was also a bit annoyed with myself while doing this because I lost a spring within the movement. It was the spring that gave the clutch lever its tension. But I replaced it with a modified staple. Deal with it.

I've since gifted the watch to a friend.

Final comments:
My expectations for this thing were really low. I've dealt with Chinese watches from ebay before, many of which are (I suspect) the older, low quality replicas, just rebranded, that can no longer sell as the industry has improved. That said and taking into account the various faults I found, this isn't a terrible watch. The case is solid, the bracelet is nice, and the movement ran for 2 years.
>Everything is there.
Granted, an issue came up after those 2 years, but it was easily solvable.
However, at 72 USD, there are similar-looking options of better quality from more reputable dealers for less money.

It appears the the lugs (the part where the bracelet is attached)are drilled through. You should be able to push a large needle or paper clip through one side to push out the bar that holds the bracelet to the lugs. The underside of the watch may have small arrows to indicate in which direction you should push, but I can't really say without seeing more.

This video is what I'm talking about, though obviously, your watch is not the F91W.

You'll also probably have to modify any strap you put it on because its bracelet is integrated and its lugs seem rather narrow.

>>7701990
Thanks.
If you check the sticky, I also wrote the portion on replicas in the section on watches. But as I said, unless you're looking for a design or function that is pretty exclusive (unlikely, as everything is copied, even in legitimate markets), I wouldn't recommend it. I was interested in getting a replica Rolex Daytona for a while mainly because getting an automatic chronograph for under $200 is next to impossible by legitimate channels, but I've since decided that I should be spending $200 on a watch when I'm still in school and don't even have a source of disposable income.

Don't buy replicas. I used to do that but after I got a real watch I realized there is a huuuge difference in quality. You should try searching for "homage" watches from real brands (for example there are a lot of seikos that are basically like rolex but you get a great brand). With replicas it's toss them into trash after a malfunction.

How big are your wrists? Mine are a tad bit over 6.5 inches. With wrists like mine, the ideal range of case diameter is 36 to 42mm, with 40mm being the perfect balance.

Protip: With some watches, the case will wear smaller. The only way you can determine this is by trying on the watch, though. I bought myself the aforementioned Seiko Black Monster after I tried the thing on. It fit well.
