Which would /fa/ recommend for black jeans? N&F Skinny Guy Power Stretch or Acne Max Cash?

>> No.7644168

the fit is the dealbreaker here

in terms of construction and denim quality, they're largely equal.

i love how Acne fit, and i really don't like N&F's cuts. this is entirely personal and I'm willing to foot the extra dough for Acne.

Also, Acne's sizing kind of confuses me. Max Cashs aren't gonna be skin tight right? I don't want them to be straight leg, but I also don't want them to be Hot Topic core.

I would choose N&F over Acne in a heartbeat

But then again, I like stacks on my denim. Much of N&F is 36/37" inseam as opposed to Acne's 32"

Acne tends to look a bit more understated/formalesque as opposed to N&F slightly more street style.

>> No.7644226

For that price range, N&F is your best bet IMO. It costs a bit less, has roughly the same quality, and is good entry level into raw denim.

>>7644216

Not that much. You can totally feels the difference but it's not really super noticable.

acne = made in turkey, low quality chemicals in the wash, less rigid, typically less oz denim

acne jeans are not bought for construction, but for the cut and the look. Also the colors (especially mics in black) take forever to fade. That is where the quality comes from

N&F = made in Canada, real selvedge, tough and rigid, you could hold them upright and they wouldn't fold over

These are not bought for their cut and N&F commonly need to be rehemmed/modified or cuffed for them to look good, but have excellent construction at ever step of the process for its price.

Which do you prefer? What do you think you look better in?

I'm a size 30 in Levi's 510s, but a size 29 in the Levi's 511 stretch with 1% elastane. My waist measures 29" when the measuring tape is tight to my waist, but is 30" when the tape is a little loose on my waist. Should I go for size 28 or size 29 for the super skinny black power stretch?

selvedge is a line on the seam of the denim which is created when old types of looms are used to make the denim, people argue this makes the denim stronger but it doesn't make any noticeable difference, modern jeans are cut from large rolls of denim so the edge isn't there

>> No.7644961

>>7644903
If you have decently sized legs, skinny jeans will start to come apart at the seams around the thighs with heavy use. I bike and walk around all day so thats where the selvedge comes in for me, it all depends on how hard you're gonna wear them and how big your legs are. I destroyed a pair of cheap mondays after about only 4 months of wear, first wash and the white seams were showing on the legs.

the only cut that's skinner than N&F super skinny at the same waist size is acne snake, which is painted on

you could size down but your nuts would be in a vice and you'd probably have the same fit as the super skinnies

the only problem with the super skinnies is the leg opening isn't the perfect stacking width but neither are acnes

the n&f are the obvious buy imo, it'd be better to buy them and even tailor them than buy the acnes

I've handled a pair of acne cash in a shop but honestly they're not worth the retail price (180€ or something)

Due to the 5% elastane, the power stretches don't stretch outwards at all really. Go true to size, if you get one size down you would end up wearing them higher to your natural waist which is weird (you will look like you're wearing yoga pants with long shirts etc) because you're meant to wear skinny guys lower as they are low rise.
